Dude is one of the best executives in the league even as an Assistant GM, it's funny you think the dude is making pennies. lol

Do you have any idea what assistant GMs make in this league? If he chooses to stay in Boston after doing an unpaid internship (first time ever hearing of such a thing) as an assistant over becoming the GM and making 3-5x the money then yeah he’s foolish.

Note the last part about my post finding it hard to believe he would do that. I think he’ll take a GM job if offered.

The internship was to get into the league my man, he's definitely getting paid now. Executives at that rank make six figures.... His name has been linked to other opportunities over the years.

Including ours back in '14.

I'm really leaning towards David Griffin.

- He has experience working with a clueless owner
- he knows what he's doing in trades

I would give him a 5 year opportunity to build thru the draft, because I doubt he could trade Blake. You just want to see some competent decision making for a while.

I still like Laimbeer to coach. His personality can't be any worse than a Van Gundy
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

Sounds like this team will remain mediocre as long as Gores owns it. He doesnt know anything about basketball, wish he'd sell the team to someone who does

If that's the list, I'll take Rosas. Long-time Rockets man that only has his short stint in Dallas as a question mark, but if he left for the reasons he said it's not really a question mark.

Big, big no to Kiki or Stefanski. Why are they even candidates.

Langdon is a big unknown. Could be good or bad, wouldn't have an opinion either way.

Shane is a real smart dude I wouldn't mind him at all.

I'd trust him to put a team together, listen to the data, and compete strategically.

Good lord, just move this team to Seattle and be done with it. Gores is quickly cementing himself as the second worst owner in Detroit sports history behind William Clay Ford Senior.

If this list is accurate, Gores is proving to be the worst Detroit owner in my lifetime. Yes, he is about to pass William Clay Ford. This list will secure the lottery for another 5+ years. Kiki and Stefanski are jokes. Ask the fans of the teams they worked for. Gores could not find one experienced winner. The guy for Houston is the only one..

The other candidates are former players with little to no experience.

Gores you make a butt load of money. Go steal the Thunder's GM and pay him double and then get out of the way. . Show you want to win vs this joke of a side show you have been giving the fans since you arrived.

Words can’t describe how much I hate Gores. He’s a pathetic excuse of an owner. Time and time again it has been shown owners with zero basketball knowledge meddling with their team only leads to poor results and tired/frustrated fan bases. To an extent, Gores’s overinflated sense of self has to be excused because he did turn himself into a billionaire, what can’t be denied however is his consistently bad decisions and the ripple effects those have had on our franchise. The fact Bowers remains a candidate to become the president of basketball operations after also being rumoured his expulsion was the reason SVG was resisting and ultimately let go speaks volumes to Gores’s ability to effectively own a team. Great NBA teams can’t be made over night (unless you already have the games best player, aka Miami with Lebron). We have literally become the Kings of the east.

I think you guys are overreacting a little bit. Detroit isn't known for leaking news and showing interest can mean a lot of things. Showing interest could mean their agents reached out and Detroit is willing to listen. Relax.

Out of that group Langdon seems interesting. My first choice is David Griffin but it's likely he's not interested. As I said before, he has spoken openly about the Griffin/Drummond pairing not being a good fit and he's more of a break it all down type of guy rather than coming in trying to build from this crap...i mean core we have. Gores really wants to make the playoffs...it makes the most business sense right now.

Shrug. I don’t see why people hate that list so much. Is it because Griffin isn’t on it? Is it the lack of Pistons?

I’m as negative as the next guy in general but don’t find that list to be bad really.

Why do people not like Battier? I always thought he seemed like exactly the type of player who’d transition well into a front office roll, and we don’t even know what position he would interview for.
