i definitely agree that 10 is probably unrealistic. i was hopeful, but i didn't think the knicks had anything of value for the 76ers, at least not that i'd like to see go (KP, frank, #9).

but anything else would be nice. maybe even get that 26, and somehow trade up again. what happened to that bulls pick the knicks have?

36 or 37? Awesome position. I'd aim for that Philly pick or the Wolves' 20th (?) pick for Lee and see if they'd bite.

don't see why not. i don't know what's projected around the 20s, but it'd look good for the knicks to grab another pick, and let lee go to a team that deserves him

"I wonder if they would do Lee (+ future second) for Bayless + 26 (10 is doubtful, IMO)." -- I'dlove this if Brunson were still on the board. Then just find a way to jettison THJ and add a good shooter who plays D at the 2 (like Mikal :))

Why for Memphis: Move back only 5 spots in the draft while adding veteran help and getting out of Parsons deal.

Why for Knicks: Move up for 5 spots to draft one of the top prospects. Takes a chance on Parsons who can use a change of teams.

In a star league, outside of having a fantastic scouting department, you need the highest pick possible to have the best percentage in finding that star. Whether guys like Porter have more potential than a guy like Carter or not is subjective, but in order to get the guy they think, they'd stay at four to be sure. They aren't even getting a financial break....losing Parsons, but eating Hardaway? Parsons and Hardway Jr are essentially owed the same amount left on their deals....except Parsons comes off a year earlier. Memphis passes.

They have their eyes for Lebron and the thirst is real.
They won’t be spending money for a middling player like Lee.

How high would the 2018 draft pick have to be in order to trade an unprotected 1st in the 2020 draft

I know I’m just rehashing some past ideas

MIN needs wings. Lee for Aldrich / OKC pick

LAC is facing the repeater tax if DJ opts in. I really think they’ll consolidate

DEN is going to pay Jokic and probably Barton this summer so #14 is in play. I’m assuming whomever would have to take on Faried.

MIL is on the clock with Giannis so #17 is probably in play in a salary dump for a better player. Lee for Delly or Henson as the primary pieces.

You mean us?

Top 10. We are the Knicks. Overwhelming likelihood we will be in the lottery that year.

if kanter opts out
c.lee & 9 for chandler parsons and the #4
if kanter opts in
kanter and Lee + #9 for chandler parsons ,#4 and jarrell miller

and with the 4th pick draft Jaren Jackson Jr. or marvin bagley whom ever falls to 4 out of ayton, doncic, jackson and bagley

honestly i find bamba to be a bit more of a risk, both physically and skillwise .

ayton , doncic and bagley look like future 1st option types and jackson's strengths are essentially bamba's he's just better at them and over a year younger.

i like what mo brings i just think there are better options.

I'm on board with taking Parsons' salary to move up to 4. There are only 4 guys I want in this draft - Ayton/Doncic/Bagley/MPJr. I don't think Ayton or Doncic fall past 2 and I believe Hawks choose Bagley over MPJr. If we can walk away from this draft filling the SF spot with a potential game changer at the cost of some extra salary, we'd have to do it. I am not a fan of taking BPA at 9.

PG: Frank/Mudiay
SG: Hardaway/Burke
SF: MPJr/Williams/Dotson
PF: KP/Kanter
C: Oquinn/Noah

A core of KP, Frank and Porter Jr with next years pick still in pocket? That looks like something Fizdale could work with.
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

You would take on that salary for a kid with a busted back who may slip to our spot anyway?

I'd consider it. We send out Lee so we free up the SG position and take on $12mil over the next 2...but we shoot up 5 spots. As for MPJr, bringing the consensus 2nd best SF in the draft (behind Doncic who we haven't a shot at), moving Tim to the 2, balancing the roster, all while moving up 5 spots and keeping next years pick? Can't ask for much more. If he's hurt next season you have a top pick in 2019. We've not had much luck in this range of the draft and we just watched Donavan Mitchell waltz past us and will the Jazz to the 2nd round of the playoffs against a Westbrook/George/Melo/Adams Thunder. This team needs to start taking some chances. Drafting the Hill's, Frye's and Gallanari's of the world (trying to be fair to Frank cause I like the kid a lot) is not going to slice it.

His hair was awful but his game was far worse. He worked on the wrong thing IMHO.
