I’m high on Bridges and Porter, but I everything I see leads me to believe Young is the pick. Would have been great to land Bagley, but Atlanta seems super high on him as well.
I just don’t see a scenario where Young isn’t taken looking at the majority of mocks, Orlando’s roster, and the cap/free agency situation.
Same. Especially since I'm 90% sure that 1-5 plays out like this, especially after listening to the Woj pod yesterday:
Phx-Ayton
Sac-Doncic
Atl-Bagely
Memphis-JJJ
Dallas-Bamba
Considering the lack of PG's in free agency and with next year not only being a weaker draft class but an extremely weak class for PG's overall, I cant see us passing on Young either. I'm torn between Bridges and Young currently. With how strapped for talent we are I would probably go with the higher ceiling player and draft Young, but there is no question how much riskier than Bridges he is. Botching this draft pick could set us back another 3-5 years.
Young and Bridges definitly two most interesting options atm. Who we choose most likely depends on :
1. Is Young smart enough to leverage his skill over physique.
2. Can Bridges attack mismatches in the nba, can he be secondary ballhandler.
3. Can we aquire quality pg via trade/free agency ( i dont think we can aquire player of Bridges caliber other than via draft).
4. How positive we are Isaac/Fournier are our best option at the sf position( versatile defender, shooter, secondary creator)
5. Do we think AG is part of our future.
6. Do we want to start winning next season
7. What personel our future coach will need.
8. Which players mess with our chemistry and who will fit from the draft.
9. Where nba changes are going and what player will help us adapt more.
10. What are our biggest opponents east and how we can make the matchup easier.
I am leaning towards Bridges becouse Young didnt impress me during his interviews, but if Weltman sees something special in him i am all aboard.
