Having said that, if you are convinced that he is healthy, I believe that Porter has the potential to be a truly transformational player - someone that leads a team and truly makes everyone around him better, while dropping 20 per night. If you are absolutely convinced he is healthy, I think he has to be the pick.
I feel the same. Porter Jr. is the one guy that I have no feel for. On scouting reports, he fits everything the Magic need. I've just never seen it in play with my own eyes to trust it, and those last two games with Mizzou left a bad impression. But, if his skill set and athleticism are as billed pre-injury, he very well could be the best player in the draft. It's such a risk, as is there for Young. I feel more secure with Young because I at least saw the potential. His workouts are going to be so important.
Post-combine workouts with NBA teams likely will be crucial for Porter to prove he’s healthy. Although he isn’t scheduled to interview with the Magic on Friday, the Magic almost certainly will invite him to travel to Orlando for a workout and interviews.
