Just his measurements. I'm pretty sure he'll end up going with Ayton but only because he's mentioned we need a C and he is a big who is gifted offensively and can run the floor and switch onto smaller players. Not sure about this statement though:

But maybe he's thinking of Boston and not guys offensively gifted guys he's had in Phx.

I agree that it seems like Ayton but he not diminishing Doncic and doesn't see some of his "potential negatives" as reasons not to draft.

So if he is excusing their perceived weakness, then who would you pick?

Draft Ayton and trade for Doncic ( as if it was so easy )

I'd say majority of the NBA world and their grandmamas expect the suns to draft Ayton #1 so Case 2 is definitely worse case scenario. The BEST case scenario would be both Doncic and Ayton becoming superstars and the suns selecting our position of need which is center. The league has too much all stars and not enough superstars I'd love to see a Suns Kings rivalry with these two.

They are both equally bad dude

I feel that Losing Mcdyess and Amare were absolutely devastating, but we very quickly recovered when we lost Joe Johnson, Raja Bell and Barborsa filled in the void JJ left very nicely. When we lost Dragic we quickly got Booker with a lowly 13th pick to replace him. Guards are easier to find because There are just way more shorter than 6'7 players who are great basketball players, the same can not be said about big men, 6'10 or above big men who are as quick, athletic and coordinated with great hands like Amare are unicorns and you don't let him go if you have a chance to grab one.

Such as life. However, until then, in my mind he is gonna be a HOF’er until he busts. Can’t wait to watch Ayton and JJ in Summer League.

That's the biggest fear is that you may have more health issues like Oden, Amare, McDyess, Embiid....heck even Robinson was out that year....when they got Duncan.

The good thing is he stays in such great shape. As DirtyDez has pointed out I won't want him to add too much more muscle. Seems like he can put it on pretty quickly too considering how fast he put it on at UofA.

Just HOFer? Dude's gonna be the first 8 time MVP. Even if Warriors offered up KD, Curry, Draymond and Klay you can't do that. Ayton gonna be better than Shaq, Hakeem and Robinson combined, with Dirk's shooting.

That's almost as good as what people thought Trae Young was gonna be early in the season.

Just a thought I had while watching the Cavs-Celtics game..I really think Rozier would be an excellent fit next to Book. I think the pick for you guys will probably be Ayton so having a backcourt of Rozier-Booker and the abiltity to add a franchise piece with Ayton to the frontcourt would be a scary combination going forward. I'm not sure what the asking price for Rozier would be but I can't imagine it being too high especially considering I cant see Boston wanting to pay him a good amount of money in free agency in 2019.

Its been talked about a lot. Some of us think its a great idea, others are scared because of the "Brad Stevens Effect".

As for the price, i thinks its going to be more than we are willing to spend. With Irving coming back next season, one of Rozier/Smart will end up being the primary back-up. With the way Terry has been playing this season and the fact that Smart is going into FA, i believe they choose to keep Rozier over Smart. It would be the smart move to make on their part, and also would be cheaper.

Well you know it’s against the law to be a positive Suns fan on these boards. Heaven forbid you have a positive outlook. Only Celts and Laker fans are allowed to do so. My bad for hoping he is a HOFer instead of anticipating him busting.

Rob Dauster

I don’t think it’s out of the question to say that he could end up being a Hall of Famer, maybe one of the 15 or 20 greatest to play the game.

Marquese Chriss was regarded as one of the worst defenders in college and has become a plus defender in the NBA within 2 seasons, that'd be the type of outcome we're hoping for.

But at the same time watching Houston vs Golden State everything is perimeter orientated Chris Paul score 10 points on David West in 4 straight posessions so anyone who is weak on the perimeter is going to be targetted.

Of course it's not out of the question. I don't think you can say it's out of the question for a lot of the top prospects. I think we are all happy we have the top pick and are going to get a premier prospect.

Read on Twitter

I stopped reading once he tried saying that Deandre Jordan isnt a good defender, just good at defensive rebounds. Yeah....2 time All-Defensive 1st team and the leading shot blocker in the league for 2 seasons. Dude didnt make the All NBA 1st Team (Once) or All NBA 3rd Team (Twice) because of his stellar offensive skills.

Ok, i just read more. LMAO, he says Jordan is a bad defender and just good at getting DRB's and Blocks, and then says Ayton will be good at DRB's and blocks. So that means Ayton is like Jordan (When it comes to D)??? If so, thats EXCELLENT! Imagine Jordan on the defensive end with an ELITE offensive game (Like Ayton has). That is a generational HOF player!

how much of Chriss' improvement on defense could be attributed to Chandler's tutoring? maybe finally Tyson can give the Suns back their money's worth by transforming Ayton into a defensive juggernaut.

If we select Ayton, I think his nickname should be the Terminator or Ayton the destroyer or something similar to that. Ayton just look so Arnold to me.

Return to Phoenix Suns
