John Beilein has removed his name from consideration for the Detroit Pistons' head coaching job.
Beilein somewhat surprisingly emerged as a candidate following the firing of Stan Van Gundy.
Beilein has never worked in the NBA.
"I love the University of Michigan and I am excited about coaching our Men’s Basketball Team next season and in the years to come ! Let’s go hang some more banners at 'THE GREATEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD,'" wrote Beilein on Twitter.
