Was a great game to watch, as Aaron was honored and in the broadcast booth for 4 innings. It was the first time that I got to watch the Braves this season, because it was on ESPN. Oh how I miss the days of Braves on TBS.

Same here. How great was it to see Aaron talk about the old days - even though some of those old days were tough - with the hate mail, etc. I didn't even realize he chose the Braves over every other organization when he was like 17 years old. What a life he's had.

Yeah I didn't realize that either. Glad he didn't go to the Yankees! He mentioned them with several teams, and said he could have went anywhere.

It would have been interesting if he got to the 9th and was over the pitch count - would they have pulled him?

Btw, if he did throw a no-hitter, he would have been the youngest in ML history to do it. Vida Blue is the youngest at 21 years and 1 month.

Braves had a 3-2 lead going into the 7th, before S Freeman blew the game. Padres win 9-3

Peter Moylan wasn't much better. We won't make much noise without adding at least another bullpen piece. AA needs to be on the phones getting that done.

Culberson gives the Braves the only run they needed with a solo HR in the 5th, as Newcomb cruises through 6 innings on his way to an 8-2 record on the season.

Won 5 of 6 on the homestand, the Nats meanwhile get swept in Toronto. The division lead has opened up to 3.5 and this looks like it could be special.

I hope AA is on the phones looking for bullpen help. Yesterday the Nats traded for Royals closer Herrara. And many are saying it was a steal of a trade for the Nats with the Royals.

2018 Braves Games Thread....

Post#299 » by TheKingofSting » Tue Jun 19, 2018 4:01 pm

Rumors are swirling on Mets' forums that we are trading for deGrom. The Mets reportedly would want Soroka headlining the deal with other prospects.

1. deGrom - (5-2, 1.51 ERA)
2. Folty - (5-4, 2.16 ERA)
3. Newcomb - (8-2, 2.70 ERA)
4. Teheran - (5-4, 3.97 ERA)
5. A. Sanchez - (3-0, 1.93 ERA)

I'd really, really hate to give up Soroka! Holy Cow that would be filthy though but it depends on the price on deGrom, I don't want to sell the farm and we still need to add a bullpen arm or two.

We were just wanting a lot for Teheran a few years ago and if this happens he may not even make the playoff rotation.

No, I would do Soroka if we were going after a healthy Thor. deGrom is on fire this year, but I think his value will be/is less than Thor's.

I would do Ian Anderson, Max Fried, Touki/Muller, Rio Ruiz and Ryan Flaherty for deGrom and Frazier.
