You're gonna have to have him guard points, cause he's too small to guard 2s and he doesn't put in the effort to make up for it, so that means you're taking away Frank's biggest strength (on ball defense), because he'd have to guard the 2 with Trae on the court

And then KP would suffer too, cause he isn't really great at PnR defense on the whole, and you add a defensive sieve like Young, and we'd be killed in every screening action

I just don't like him cause I put a lot of emphasis on defense when I want to build a team

Strongly disagree with that about Trae. But I respect your opinion, so we'll agree to disagree about his fit with us.

--Mags

I mean, if he's as good on offense as y'all say he will be, it'll cancel out his defense and I can see him being a good fit

I just can't get over his defense though, it's just a personal thing

If we get Trae, Burke needs to find a new team.

You think Trae has defensive potential?

Did I say he did. ;)

thats how I feel too

I can’t ignore one side of the court in a player. Which is why mikal is so high on my list.

I can see Trae at his best leading us in fast breaks, hitting high % shots, passing and setting guys up.

I can just as easily see him turning the ball over, taking terrible shots, defending no one, forcing frank and thjr to play a position up and generally being another over hyped college scorer too small to hold his position in the nba.

SGA seems to a lot of analysts to be the top pg prospect in this draft. Size and skill. Why isn’t he on our radar? A backcourt if he and frank can work better than a backcourt of young and frank imo.

Though clearly sf is our position of need

Not necessarily, Trae can be a VERY good 6th man alongside Mudiay in the 2nd unit.

He also wants to date Jennifer Aniston but the likelyhood of either is pretty low

Trae Young dropping as I expected. Guy is going to be a door man on defense.

I don't think we need two undersized guards who are shoot first, offer no defensive versatility, and probably can't outproduce their defensive liability.

Essentially, we don't need two 6th men who have the same exact strengths and weaknesses.

Burke doesn't have Trae's range or passing ability.

They're both offensive PGs, but approach things differently.
