I really don't think this trade sways the Kawhi sweepstakes odds at all for them.

Oh. Ok. Well that totally changes my mind then. Given how compelling an argument you make and wot not.

What is there to argue when your only logic was this trade somehow entices Pop to deal Kawhi to the LAC.

No, no. You misunderstand. It isn't the content of the texts to which you keep bothering to respond.

I tried to cobble a way for LAC to trade for Kawhi and get LeBron. Couldn't figure anything that beats Philly/BOS lowballs even.
They already drafted, so the picks are out as prime assets, esp SGA since they have Murray. But, if you expand it to have SAS unloading Gasol as well, maybe that helps? Something based around:

Kawhi & Gasol for DeAndre, Harris, Robinson, Harrell, future pick or 2?

That could interest San Antonio.

Just don't see how they get LeBron in that scenario. Even if you stretch Gasol, he has a lot left on that contract. If you don't take him on, I don't see SAS being interested.

You'd have to sell CLE on a trade as well. Gallo , Boban, Milos for LeBron.... lol... shrug? Don't see how you can do it.

Actually, a 3 teamer works if CLE wants to have 2 more years of high-priced Euros:
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine

LAC: Kawhi, LeBron for DeAndre, Harris, Gallo
SAS: DeAndre, Harris for Kawhi, Gasol
CLE: Gallo, Gasol, Robinson for LeBron. LAC 2022, 2024 first rounders.

SAS would have to take the deal with no picks. CLE eats Euro dollars for 2 years and gets Robinson and 2 more picks out in the future post LeBron. Iffy, but the best I can do... :)

Greatest trade ever, for fun or confusion.

Gortat in, coach's son out.

Clippers, as in Jerry West, win.

A famous former Celtic, those hours or minutes Rivers spent as a Celtic were memorable, being traded for The Polish Hammer who always wanted to be a Celtic.

Why for Clippers, coach's son is terrible.

Why for Wizards, someone else can explain that.

Do they have a center? Ian? 9 guards, 2 small forwards, 3 power forwards, 1 center.

Silly Wizards, maybe if you are about to trade away your big center you draft someone like Robert Williams when he is available? Wizards didn't even get a second rounder thrown in to take coach's son?

It is good a player for player trade happened. The Dwight trade, the draft of few real trades, at least the Clippers made the wait until "The Decisions" something newsworthy.

A year from now, maybe The Polish Hammer is signing with the Celtics.

Next move IMO

Cavs get DJ (opt in+trade)
Clips get Hill (expiring) plus a future 1st rnd pick

Hill only gtd. 1 Mill in 19-20, could agree to buyout with Clippers after trade.

I know! It does make sense now that I've had some time to think about it. I'm just really bad at predicting trades.

Lol well it is hard to imagine anyone wanting to trade for Austin Rivers. Doc must be pissed

LOL, I doubt West even cared what he got back as long as it was a contract with 1 year left. Austin had to go so Doc didn't play him in front of his new backcourt.

Looks like barring a (Philly or Cleveland) surprise trade/PG13 staying maybe, LeBron will be a Laker:

Can Wizards offer MLE to Baynes?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I actually like it for Washington.

Washington needs some kind of bounce off the bench. Satoransky can be the calm to Austins erratic ass.

My only issue is that you just reached for a wing in the draft. Instead of taking Robert Williams. They need to get more athletic, so they pass on an athletic big, draft a reach at the wing, then trade for a big for a wing? lol. Makes no sense.

But i actually do think Austin fits good there though. Could play the 1-3. Plays hard. Can shoot, dribble, defend. Won't be a lot of pressure on him. Him & Tomas can be co-handlers on the bench.

Nice move for Washington. Obviously both teams have sights on others now though.

They should take a gamble on Nerlens Noel. High risk though as their locker room is already shaky.

On Sirius NBA radio this morning, Scal and Frank Isola mentioned that the rumor is that DeAndre Jordan will opt into his final year with the Clippers (at $24.1 million), and then be dealt to the Mavericks. They didn't say who the Mavericks would be trading back, but speculated that it would likely be Harrison Barnes.

The acquisition of Marcin Gortat makes it likely that DeAndre Jordan will be on the move.

I think a trade is in the works but I have a hard time believing that Jerry West would trade for Harrison Barnes. I remember Cave saying a few years ago that the only reason Barnes was starting for the Warriors (while Jerry West was there) was because he had a fragile ego and would have his feelings hurt if Iguodala took his spot.

We've got a passive aggressive standoff between a huge group of egos and a bunch of them are going to be left with a case of blue balls.

Wonder who has the sack to make the first move.

Pop isn't gonna do the lakers any favors. They are gonna have to give the spurs everything they want and more for a trade to happen. A team of LeBron and Leonard and PG can compete with anyone though. Might have to do it.

I was thinking. Could Ben Simmons have a shot to be the first person to win ROY in back to back years? We'll see. I think he needs to make at least 1 three point shot first.

I never thought Lebron would leave the east but I can see he and PG going to the Lakers then KL joining them next season.

All of the focus is on LA, but I'm still keeping my eye on Philly. They badly want to make a splash for an upgrade to one up us.

Good luck with that cause we are adding 2 alstars this offseason. Have it on VERY GOOD SOURCES that Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward will both make their way to the Celtics this offseason at the cost of NOTHING!.

Return to Boston Celtics
