Re: Spurs open to trading Kawhi to Lakers
The Celtics overachieving last season takes them out of the KL situation - they dont need him and they wont give up what he costs to acquire him, even if it is to just spite the Lakers.
The only people that are talking are LAL and SAS, expect a deal done by tomorrow - whatever that may actually be.

Ingram
Kuzma
Is a legit core
Nobody is taking Deng
What if you were to send back Pau Gasol or Patty Mills? Both contracts suck. But
in Gasol's case he's only guaranteed $6 and change in 2019/2020 and Mills' $39 mil
is spread over three years.

I know the thing to do is to chime in with the same old BS of "laker fans are this or that" ,but some just try to hard. Smh
No I understand your argument, it's just flawed, because nothing is certain. You could say that about anything, it's weak AF. I can't say that Lebron on Boston 100% is better than Lebron on Brooklyn, but I can have an educated guess. Add Lebron to a Philly (50 wins) and they get better, that's not up for debate. Add Lebron to LA and they still might not win 50.
I'm not even a Philly fan, you're argument is just weak. "SMH"

No, we’re not. Spurs are going to get lowballed no matter what they get in return. And if the reports of the Lakers offering Ingram + a 1st Rounder are true, Spurs will close the door on the Lakers and Kawhi will be trade to PHI or BOS for another weak package.
Ingram, Kuzma, 1st, filler sand Hart. All Spurs system type players besides Ingram IMHO.
Lakers aren’t offering that though. They’re only offering Ingram + a future pick or two, which is a horrible deal. Those picks are going to be late 1st rounders and Ingram alone is not nearly worth even half of a top 3 player in the world and future HOFer.
Spurs would be better off trading him East or simply holding onto Kawhi and letting him walk for nothing next summer, as opposed to practically handed him over to the Lakers for nothing. A lot can happen in a year. You never know what might change.

Why tomorrow?
In addition to having a complete physical, I think Kawhi needs some counseling. Don't you? He's just given
up $80 mil and is trying to lose more.

The nba is about getting top of the league players you NEED to win titles and Kawhi is one of those few players..
Chances are slim to none any assets you give up whether you’re the Lakers Celtics or a Sixers will ever be a top of the league player.
I’d take my chances that once Kawhi gets to my team and we’re highly successful that there’s a good chance he’d resign
Yea especially a team like Boston with how well run of an organization they are and a big market would have an excellent chance of resigning Kawhi, I agree it's worth the gamble if you are the celtics. They have been building and building and done a great job but at some point they need to land a true top 5 player to get over the top in todays nba.
I’m still unclear how Celtics trade for Kawhi? I can see the Philly trade because they can include Cov to match but Celtics are over the cap and the only players they can add to match salary in a trade are Hortford, Kyrie or Hayward. I just really don’t see Celtics letting go of any of those players for a Kawhi rental. As bad as Danny is, I don’t really see him trading one of those period. Otherwise the salaries just don’t add up and they would have to include like every other player on the roster just to make it work...
You’re completely wrong. I won’t post it all here, but there are numerous breakdowns on that Cs board that show how they can easily do this without any of those players

Yeah they are going to be forced into a trade with the Lakers. They don't really have that much leverage or else he will just walk

Lakers need a deal by tomorrow to secure a commitment from Lebron, if not he may begin to look elsewhere or may even consider not opting out.

I see Brown, Rozier, Morris, Yabu and Semi would work, but SaS certainly don’t have five roster spots open. Plus this would empty the bench almost completely. Maybe it would work with a third team involved but I wouldn’t say it’s easy at all..

Re: Spurs open to trading Kawhi to Lakers
The Cs wont be giving SAS anything worthwhile for KL.
This is definitely putting the pressure on SAS to trade KL to the LAL.
Now the LAL have the advantage of dictating the terms. I expect a mediocre haul for SAS at the end of the day.

Re: Spurs open to trading Kawhi to Lakers
Neither Brown or Tatum will be traded, so the C's are pretty much out of the conversation.

I'm wondering why a team like the Wizards don't get in on this with Porter Jr., Satoranksy, and picks.

Ingram has to be involved period. Unless we say screw LBJ and just sign PG , and wait out Kawhi for next year

Kawhi probably told them not to bother.

Re: Spurs open to trading Kawhi to Lakers
As a laker fan Kuzma/hart/zubac plus picks is as far as they should go. If they take Deng then maybe you can add Ingram. Why should the lakers give up their young assets when it’s Kawhi Leonard who wants to play for them. As soon as lebron opts our his deal with the cavs, Kawhi’s trade value will completely tank if it hasn’t already. The spurs have no leverage here because it’s them who won’t want to go through the next season with this drama. The longer they wait the less their leverage is.

If Kawhi committed to staying in Boston.... Jaylen would be gone.

Make no mistake. The only one holding leverage in these trade talks is LeBron.

The Wizards probably go to the Finals in the East with:
Wall/Rivers
Beal/Brown
Leonard/Oubre
Morris/Scott
Mahinmi/Smith
