Some people are overreacting and seem to have lost their short term memory. Last time I checked we had 3 All Stars and two of the best young players in the league. Ah! Also someone defensive studs, and young promising blood. We almost reached the Finals without 2 of those All Stars last season...so adding them next year instantly makes as a favourite to win the title.

It just changes the timeline a little. We stay young and we wait to take over in 2-3 years with our existing roster and a bevy of picks to work with.

But I am still believing in Lebron and Kawhi to LA. The PG deal hopefully changed their mindset a bit and they put together a better package.

Philly isn't going to just disappear in 3 years if this gets done. Simmons, Kawhi, Embiid, old man LeBron and whoever is left after the trade could still be plenty relevant 3 years from now.

With our 2 young guys developing I doubt we can't overcome this. I mean LBJ is showing signs of slowing down, especially in the playoffs. And he will have to change his style a lot to play with these guys. Doubt they will be happy to sit around while he dribbles down the clock on most every possession.

Healthy KL is better than everyone on that list other than Lebron. To put Harden above is laughable.

You can definitely make a solid case that he may not be healthy/the same player though.

Kawhi is getting traded, and the 76ers are one of three teams in the conversation to land him. If they end up with him, why wouldn't LeBron sign there? He's getting embarrassed by the Warriors every year if he goes West. He'll get embarrassed by us every year if he stays in Cleveland.

LeBron isn't signing with Cleveland after last season. He's not signing with LA to play with Boogie and Lonzo (lol). The 76ers just make sense if they end up with Kawhi.

The bolded is not the most important question. The most important question is: If you were LA, and you had two top-5 players trying to shoot their way to your team, and you had the assets to make it happen, is there any chance you'd let them slip away? When are you going to get another chance like this? Missing this kind of opportunity is the sort of thing that gets entire front offices axed.

Push come to shove, LA will make everything available. If us or Philly want Kawhi, it is going to take a true godfather offer, without any indication of commitment from Kawhi.

The only true star the celtics have is Kyrie Irving. Jayson Tatum could become one. This team is nowhere close to being perfect or unbeatable. They are not beating the warriors without getting one more star player.

If Tatum and Brown become legitimate all-stars before the decline of our current core then we start racking up championships, but that's certainly no guarantee. Brown can't even hit free throws at a decent rates, or drive without dribbling off his feet. Tatum could easily be at all-star level within the next 2 years though.

Sure LBJ is slowing down a little, but on a team surrounded by talent he'll be able to rest more in the regular season and earlier rounds of the playoffs. The Cavs ran him into the ground last year.
