this season no. Maybe next. The way they are setup salary wise right now, looks like the Lakers are poised to make another run at a Max player next off-season.

This year....no. Come 2019-20 season and beyond, it will be interesting to see who they get in 2019 off-season and LeBron's ability to keep playing at a high level once he is 35 given all the mileage he has carried over his career.

If they get Leonard and craft some other trades with all these mid-level crap deals, perhaps. Also, I like the potential for Cousins to blow up the Golden State locker room.

The Lakers have rising stars on the roster, Ingram and Kuzma especially. The roster, as it stands, is already better than last year's Cavs. If the young guys' peak years can arrive before LeBron's decline, maybe a Finals appearance could happen. Add a big FA in '19 and that increases the possibility. A rash of injuries on the Warriors could also help that happen.

Depends on trades and/or who they sign next season. With their current makeup, probably not in the next 4 years or how ever long Lebron stays in LA.

Kyrie and Tristan Thompson both improved their PER and TS% in their first season with LeBron. Mario Chalmers improved every year with LeBron. There is zero reason to think what you wrote is true.

No, the Lakers will be unable to reach the Finals this season, even with the addition of LeBron and various role players. LeBron is the greatest player on the planet, don't get me wrong but the star-studded West is just so much more strong than the East. Also, in the West teams are much better deeper into the seeding order than the East. The Lakers are for sure a better team than the Cavaliers were, and a lot younger than the Cavs were. I think that the LeBron led Lakers will reach the second round of the playoffs as a third seed but may be a fourth because of the Jazz team breaking out as a contender, and I don't have much hope for the Thunder this year.
