We'll be better off without him. He bogged down the offense, he shot poorly, he and Dunn did not mesh well, and by one measure at least, he was one the 5 worst defenders in the league last year. What about that is worth 20 mil a year?

Plug Blakeney/Hutch into the 2 spot and let them have at it. Much rather do that than have that albatross of a contract hanging over us for 4 years.

Please don't match, please don't match, please don't match!

I wish him luck in Sac. He's gonna need it!

i think the biggest takeaway is that it's a bad idea to start your rebuild by acquiring a questionable prospect coming off ACL surgery and destined for free agency in one year

There are also a combination of unforseen actions that also makes the decision even harder.

Think of it this way...

1)He is coming off a serious injury so what we saw is probably no where near what he is capable of. But its still in question
2)Lauri by all accounts wasnt predicted to be this good. At least not right away. That totally changed the outlook.
3) Dunn, Lavine and Lauri played liked 30 total minutes together. And in those 30 minutes, had like zero chemistry.

Its hard because suppose we resign Zach and the trio of Dunn, Lavine and Lauri just have no chemistry. And its rather horrible. We will instantly regret the deal and probably would be looking to trade Zach or someone else probably a month into the season.

Im sure the Bulls dont want those problems.

I can understand if they do match his offer if they really believe in him. But I am also fine with letting him go and making this fully Lauri's and rest of the young squad.

Then play the lottery game one mroe time to get RJ Barrett or Zion or some other stud in this draft.

Once you get as high as Sac was willing to go, you need that player to make a positive impact on the defensive side of the game.
20M is way too much for a 1 dimensional player that believes he's something that he's not.

I WOULD like to get SOMETHING for him. How would a sign-and trade work for Buddy Hield?

Does anybody know?

Idk the answer but I wouldn’t mind Hield. Hes nothing special and inconsistent but he might actually be a better fit with Dunn or a very good off the bench scorer. If thats available bulls should do it right away, this way at least they don’t lose Lavine for nothing and don’t pay that ridiculous contract.

let zach walk and sign Jabari to a 1+1 and call it an off-season. If Jabari balls out, he's trade bait. If he sucks, who cares, he's off the books next summer.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

New poll: match Lavine's offer sheet or not

Post#186 » by League Circles » Sat Jul 7, 2018 12:26 am

I don't think a poll can be added or changed or whatever to the other thread so I thought we should have a concise place to see how the fan base feels.

Let's keep the discussion over there and just have the poll.

When Aaron Gordon signed his 4yr 84 Million contract i said that it set the market for Zach. Same age, athletic potential, and inconsistencies so it seemed like a solid comparison. Someone told me it was like comparing apples to oranges, yet here we are with nearly identical offers. Now its on GarPax to detemine whether or not they have the stones to pay $20m for Zachs potential. If not, can they possibly extract some assets from Sacramento in return.

Did he actually go on twitter and bash his team?

He's not the only RFA not happy with not getting an offer from his current team.

Comparison is similar except Zach had torn his ACL. I think the Kings are guessing that the Bulls won’t match.

I think the fan base is in lock step on this turn of events.

This comment screams douche-bag. It makes it much easier for me to accept passing.

I want RJ Barrett anyway.

Just do the opposite of what the kings do and you'll probably be okay in building a team.

He didn't bash the team, he said I'm disappointed and I guess the Kings want me more.

We should have offered him 5/87.5 like I've been saying

This is nothing more than posturing on Zach’s part. He wants to be a Bull and he’s simply saying “hey, you challenged me to test the market, I did and this is what’s out there for me. Didn’t want to but you made me...”. Let’s not get off into our feelings about it too much.

The silver lining is Zach’s here to help you get him.

Double the ACL surgeries = double the potential?

Just going by the report a few days ago that they have interest in Parker. Felt like plan B.

That would be incredibly stupid. There are good SGs still available. And Parker has had two ACLs. Yuck.
