there was a tweet we waived him even though he's playing on our summer team. pacer website still has him on roster. I haven't seen anyone local report.

EDIT. 8.9 seconds repeats the story and credits it to RealGM even though I don't see it on WireTap

Seems like we're set on Leaf playing this weird stretch 5 position this summer, huh?

Ben Moore still doesn't look good. I'd imagine we won't see him back.

Holiday going at Sexton early and winning.

Alize looking like the best player on the team so far. GET THIS MAN A CONTRACT.

he's playing 4. Poythress and Sims are the 5s.

edit. agree on Alize. Holiday didn't look to have enough hops on his drives. don't know if that's just a matter of getting used to the pros or a limitation. announcers confirmed Poythress waiver. Leaf shows lessons from Big Al but not his accuracy.

I like what I saw from Alize and Holiday even though he had an off shooting night. Holiday was still aggressive against Sexton despite him knowing he is the higher pick and supposed better prospect. 8 assists and 8 turnovers But He will improve on his decision making with experience. Alize appears to be a solid player right now. I like his motor. Leaf on the other hand just seems like he may have regressed. Im wondering if the weight has affected his mobility. He seemed to move better in summer league last season. His explosion is not the same. He is playing Center so one would think he would have an advantage or mismatch to exploit.

According to Gansey, McMillan, and Pritchard, Leaf is only playin* the 4 in summer league. They’re playing Poythress as the 5. They didn’t want Leaf to be confused.

I know I've already called Sexton an incoming draft bust, but Trae Young might be an even bigger one. he's certainly no steph curry despite how badly it seems everyone wants him to be. Atlanta is really gonna regret trading Doncic for Trae...

I was not a fan of the Holiday pick, but I'm really starting to like this guy. Plays really smart. He's played a nearly perfect game so far... but I guess who hasn't this game?

edit: perfect is a bit strong. he's turned the ball over a little much.

Sexton looked good against Holiday but Aaron looking better than Trae. seem to be about the same height but Aaron is much beefier.

haven't seen Doncic yet but agree Atlanta needs to hit the pick they got out of the park.

I do really like Poythress in the Kevon Looney small ball 5 role though. Why didn't we give that a shot earlier?

I hope he at the very least ends up on the Mad Ants again.

Sumner has potential. we can start year with him on two way and upgrade later if need be.

I don't get why we waived Poythress.

Sims might be more of a center than O'Quinn. we've got a roster spot.

The bench of this summer league team is HORRIBLE. Hollins, Wilcox, Alford, Sims too imo. They can all go.

WE WERE LEADING BY 27.

Where is Holiday? Sumner?

ridiculous. starters ex Leaf came back in but gambled too much trying to catch up.

I honestly can't see him being much bigger than last year, he's not more muscular at least not that I can see. I just think he's not an NBA player. :nonono:

I’m fine with Alize taking whatever minutes Leaf was supposed to get this year.

Nope. We’re down to 13right now, unless we plan on promoting Sumner from his 2way before the season. Also, not counting Alize.

So was Poythress not guaranteed? I don't see a reason to drop him like this, if he was not guaranteed it could be seen as cost cutting. But other wise it makes no sense.

he was not guaranteed so the timing is confusing unless it was just a favor to him so other teams would look at him more closely.

who are the two way candidates? Sumner has one now leaving room for only one more unless you promote Sumner. I can see Alize getting a two way but I can also see him getting a guaranteed regular contract. I can see Moore getting a second year as a two way. I don't see much else on the summer roster other than wannabees. Poythress maybe. Sims maybe. blowing a 27 point lead took a lot of guys off my radar.

as much as I like the KOQ signing, I still see the hole as emergency center. Vegas announces said Ike had surgery but gave no details; it might have been a minor clean-up procedure that will be ancient history by training camp.
