And? They were the team's 2nd and 3rd leading scorers. SGA and Diallo were on Knox's team. At least one of them also looks to be more prolific in the pros.

Knox was featured as the first option.

Until KP comes back he'll likely be used as such, at least at times, this coming season. You can't run an offense through Kanter. If Knox can get the shots off, they're as good as his.

Really the comparison should be to other 19 year olds in the NBA. The only reason I brought up Kentucky was that is what he did in his last season. It's just not realistic for a 19 year old to score 20 ppg, when they are not conditioned to play 82 games.

We're haggling over 15 ;-) That's a number 5 19-20 yr olds hit last year alone.

Seems like you've forgotten that Hardaway, Burke, and Lee are still on the team. Or maybe you have them gone in mpharris' trade for Melo.

I wouldn't count on Lee being here.
Don't move to Burkestan just to win an argument.

Hardaway will get more shots. Knox will be 2 or 1a.

You know 2K is starting Sham

However many minutes Kanter gets, his primary job will be rebounding and putbacks. Very little offense will initiate by dumping into him in the post, though he may be used more effectively for screens than Jeff did which would free him up for the occasional mid-range jumper.

The Knicks have too many veterans to expect them to let a 19 year jack up shots. NBA just doesn't work that way. They don't have to dump the ball to Kanter in the post Ewing style for him to still get shots.

Jay King: Jay Larranaga has been quite impressed by Kevin Knox. “He’s what the future of the NBA is.”

Which guys?

This makes no sense

Only one who might get pouty is Timmy, but I won't bank on that since I think he will play regardless of the rotations

Kanter doesn't matter and he'll at least play some minutes

The only two vets who would be directly impacted by Knox is Lance and Lee

If Lance has a problem with it, nobody cares

Lee is probably gone, but even if he sits, he's not going to make a big stink if somebody is star material out of the gate. If he does, SFW

There are so few veterans on this squad and not a single one is a star of any kind who can throw their weight around

This is simply untrue. If Knox deserves to play 35 minutes, he will play them regardless of who loses time

I want Knox to be good enough that you know he'll be a star but not good enough to lose a top 5 pick. I'm not sure if I want to accidentally become Utah this season.

I don't think 15ppg for Knox is unreasonable considering KP is out to start and when he comes back it may not be 100%. Timmay will probably get the most shots and Burke if he starts may be equal to him but who really else is going to score from the perimeter the way that Knox does? Mario?

Don't mean to get conspiratorial but I don't think the Knicks would highlight a player who they don't have bird rights to so might cost too much if he outperforms his salary. I know they want to develop him but is he 'part of the future of the franchise' the way Knox is and would be a draw like Knox is? Not sure he would be.

Although, Fiz and the FO will likely view using the promise of Knox and a returning, healthy KP as the lure to a big time FA. So, they will not bury him in shots attempts behind less alluring players unless he falls off a ledge just to win a few extra games that ultimately hurts the draft pick.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

It's not just Burke and Hardaway. Hezonja didn't sign a 1 year deal to watch Knox chuck shots. He's gonna get a healthy amount of shots. Frank is going to be more aggressive this year I am sure. He's gonna take more shots. KP will come back eventually. It's his team when he does.

Durant barely averaged 20, and he did it with a dumpster fire team that was trying to get out of Seattle.

If Knox plays 32+ minutes per game, he can average 18-22 PPG

It's not rocket science

If he plays less minutes, then lower the numbers

I could be wrong about the minutes played, but I doubt I will be wrong about his production
