I love Andujar and am very against a Machado trade if they are giving up Florial and Abreu but that is a crazy lineup.

I don't care what Sonny Gray showed up tonight. He's still trash.

I think that may be too many righties in a row, but either way the lineup is ridiculous. I believe the offer is more likely to be Drury and Abreu 'cause I heard the Os like Drury, and it makes more sense.

Come on...

Admittedly watching him pitch, he's got the stuff, just needs to put it together consistently. Movement of his pitches in the zone is great.

I don't got time for that. How many more chances does he get?

I need consistency.

Did anybody see Odor's error to score a run for the Sox? Combine that with the Bogaerts 3-run triple yesterday that was ruled a triple somehow instead of an error, and you'd think the Sox are paying the Rangers.

Yanks up 5-0. I'll check the score again in a half hour after Gray gives up at least 4 runs.

I'm all for giving Gray chances to succeed. He has been awful this year and of course one start against the Orioles doesn't make up for all of the bad but if he is even serviceable as a #4 starter, then he makes the Yankees that much better. He has the pedigree and the "stuff", just needs to be more confident and more consistent with it. It only makes our position stronger at the deadline if Gray pitches well.

Should probably stop calling Machado a rental.
We're trying to win a title this year.
Machado is a Yankee fan, ARod is his favorite player and supposedly he'd go back to 3rd for only the Yankees. Doesn't seem like someone who would be a "rental" then leave his dream team as if we're not already intending to spend big this offseason.
Why doubt Cashman now of all times? If anything, I'm sure there's an extension understanding after this season.

I wonder if he'll wear #13.

You're probably right. If we got Machado, I would guess he would resign with us. I personally just don't like giving up all of the assets they are talking about giving up for a guy that we can just sign in a few months. Especially since we have Andujar at 3B and really need a SP more than another bat, as great as Machado is.

Whether he has a right to be or not, I really hope Stanton feels snubbed from the All-Star game.

Britton, Machado for Rogers, Adams, Loasiga, Wade
DeGrom for Andujar, Drury, Florial, German

Oh boy.

His average is up to 276 already. Steady climbing.

Stanton has made me bash my head in a lot this season but you can't deny he's been hot all of last month and this month.

Definitely a snub.

Im still gonna give this team the middle finger instead of any credit especially sonny gray. Splitting a 4 game series is unacceptable.

I think its actually funny that you are using career statistics for trying to **** on Detfink's statement when you literally typed on this board the other day that Hicks is a 380 OBP, 850 OPS and 20 SB kind of player. Meanwhile in your world for knowing EXACTLY who a player is going to be let me clue you in on something.

Aaron Hicks career at bats: 1,540

Career Batting Average and On Base Percentage:

.231 BA/ .316 OBP

And I get it, you want to use Hicks 300 AB's last year as some sort of absolute, unequivocal concrete data that speaks to you thinking he is the player you claim he is. But there is an extremely high chance that you are dead wrong. That Hicks is nothing more than a 348 OBP, 244 BA, 780 OPS type of player. The best part is I really don't like Austin AT ALL. I just don't know why the concept of him potentially hitting 270, even when he said he wouldn't bet on that in Vegas would seem to irritate you that much.

Ahhh yes. My favorite thing to do. Find old posts of people berating me, yet being unequivocally incorrect.

Hicks is 45th in the entire MLB for pitchers and hitters combined in WAR.

Hicks is top 30 in OPS in the entire MLB.

Hicks is 25th in SLG.

Hicks is an elite glove with ++ speed.

Tyler Austin is still a career .228 hitter in MLB level in 268 AB's and currently in AAA.

Mecca - if at the end of the season Hicks carries this 850+ OPS (let’s say hell have 510 at bats) then I’ll tip my cap to you for sure. He’s always looked solid in the OF so defense has nothing to do with this arguement. Having said that this is a brutally long sport and I don’t believe he’s more than I said. 244-250 hitter with an OPS of 780-800.
