draftexpress6'9 and 18-year-old Kevin Knox, a #kentucky product and the 9th overall pick by the #newyork #knicks, leads all 2018 #nbadraft class members in scoring @nbasummerleague in #lasvegas but there are still areas that he needs work
.
In 2 appearances Knox has driven to his left and maneuvered back to try to finish with his right hand 12 times
.
Learning to use his left hand in traffic and working on the creativity in his in-between game would do wonders moving forward
.

Yes, it's a glaring weakness many on this board has pointed out. I have the upmost confidence he will continue working on finish with his left.

We'll have to keep in mind he's only 18 and was originally a football player. I think he'll develop that left hand.

His handles have improved greatly over this summer and can seemingly take it to the rack whenever he wants now.

I have no doubt he'll work on driving to his left as he continues to develop. His areas of weakness won't be that hard to improve on if his work ethic is as good as management has stated. He won't even be entering his prime for another 6-7 years.

He should be hired by the Knicks as draft scout, having someone you know is always wrong has significant value.

I spent the last day checking out Porzingis videos from rookie year to last year. I love Knox and his potential but I don’t see him supplanting KP as the number 1 option. KP was ridiculous before the injury.

Kevin will probably be the guy with the ball in his hands at the end of the game tho. I’m of course referring to an older Kevin Knox as he most definitely won’t be the first option over KP right now.

If it’s the Porzingis of the first two months, it will be tough to overtake him as the number 1 option. But I see it as a 1 and 1a.

He has a ton of weaknesses which is scary because he can improve so much. I keep saying he needs to take 1 more dribble when attacking. He doesnt exactly blow by guys either, they have been fouling him.

Wait... an 18 yr old rookie doesn't have a complete and flawless game but instead still needs to work and improve? I'm shocked....

He also has to get better at drawing contact in some of these situations, which is amazing given how much he already gets to the line. He's going to live at the FT eventually. When he drives left and tries to finish with his right he tends to float or drift and avoid contact.

The other thing I've noticed about his offensive game is that his shooting inconsistencies stem from him slightly short-arming some jump shots. When he struggled the first two games he wasn't fully extending his right arm, which will lead to inconsistencies and a less accurate & flatter shot, instead of finishing with that long/straight arm in his follow through. He did that in the second half vs the Lakers and he was on fire. He gets consistent with that he's going to be a 40% 3PT guy.
