Wait.... did someone merge a Baker thread into the Mitchell welcome thread? Hey, I guess that means being drunk doesn't prevent me from being a mod!

he shot 3's at a decent clip in hs. he has untapped range on the pro level for sure. that's why he's so exciting and not a 1-1 comparison to a DJ or a Capela. his offensive upside is higher.

He hit the 3 in high school at a good clip (38%). We'll see what Fizz has him working on.

Fiz said he will start off as a runner like Deandre and Capela to start then start with the jump hook and go from there.

People forgot he was seen as better than Bamba in their senior seasons of HS with Bamba being seen as having more potential. Dude is a defensive monster

Also I wanna say screw Mills again. Y'all wanna ignore it but skinny Willy is averaging 18/12/2 with 2 blocks so far in the SL and is killing it (I saw 3 of the 4 games he played). He even shoots 3s now. If we had him and Mitch we'd have a complete 3 man frontcourt rotation for the future along with KP instead of Mitch, KP, and 2 scrubs we're dumping after next season. KP/Mitch/Willy all complement each other extremely well.

It's almost unfortunate that Mitch has looked this good because it killed off any foils for your shtick on him.

I'll allow it though.

He's **** awesome.

The "Willy ain't ****" one seems to be gaining some traction.

Those numbers are way off too. Here's the real rankings:

1. Money Mitch - 33.4
2. Wendell - 30.5
3. Wade Baldwin - 29.7
4. Willy - 27.9
5. Trevon Bluiett - 27.3

I'm just saying we dropped the ball on that one. Obvious then, becoming more and more obvious daily. Could've had 2 of the top 5 performers on the same damn roster.

EDIT: Just peeped rookies only. Why not do all players, Mitch #1 regardless.

I'm just mad we don't have both. What's better than one good, high potential young C? Two good, high potential young Cs. Those two and KP would've been the most fearful bigman trio in 3 years if we didn't have to pay Willy too much.

The Willy situation was unfortunate. I think by spring they had to trade them but it could have been avoided with a little foresight/coordination, imo. Willy didn't help the situation either.

It could've been avoided by benching Kanter for him and making him backup. Actually with some luck that would've made him opt out too. Two birds with one stone, keep Willy happy, and make Kanter bounce. It didn't take foresight I was saying it from the first time I saw Willy on the floor he obviously had NBA talent.

something like PER loves a guy who can put up stats in all the columns and dunk everything like mitch. He led EYBL in PER too, and by far.

the AD comparisons is a huge reach but not without some basis. Like AD he had a late growth spurt from 6'2" to 6'11" from 8th-through 11th grade. He was just starting to play basketball then and didn't gain much guard skills unlike AD, but the same sort of athletic fluidity at 7+ feet size is there.

the AD comp is a huge reach because of the skill gap he'll need to bridge, but he's been practicing his faceup game for a year and we don't really know how that looks. even with these 4 games he's still so underexposed and unexplored. it's pretty exciting.

The comparison is only defensively and it's not like AD is Gobert or Embiid level defensively. Comparing him to a tier 2 bigman defensively seems about right to me. Difference is AD is kinda overrated when it comes to guarding the whole floor. He still looks lost recovering after the PNR unless Jrue blows it up.
