Baynes was done the first night.
Don't hold up Bird's contract, for Smart.
Just sign Bird.
Smart is snoozing; and will be losing, if he plays too much.
Agreed.

... I did not consider 20 million a season "on the cheap". And for only 2 years... what the **** is the point CHI?
Like, market value coming off an injury at his age I think Parker is at beast a 15 million player. But for 2 years there's no reason to pay him because if he does play healthy he'll just up his value to around that value... and yet he'll be a free agent and you'll lose the asset.
a 2 for 20 is just horrible for the Bulls all around. The only winner is Parker who gets way more money than he should be getting AND the flexibility of a short contract that rides out the end of the 2016 contract squeeze the league has been feeling.
Jesus.

Looks like the Bulls are trying to make the playoffs. They honestly might squeak into the 8th seed if they stay healthy.

you don't get restricted free agents by giving them fair market contracts. you have to overpay if you want the other team to let them go.

.. I mean I guess.
I guess this does move them from "no way in hell" to "well maybe if Lavine recovers and Parker stays healthy all season they could"
Jesus.
I would put DET and CHA ahead of them, but CHA could trade away Kemba. So yeah they're in the mix now.

QO for Celtics at 6 million
MLE on another team for 8.5 million
Potentially 12 million from the Kings
Right? His only free agent competition is Rodney Hood correct?

I like those moves. And, what happens if Parker breaks out and is healthy and lives up to his talent?

He and Levine are super sub par defenders, Markenen is not a good defender either, that will be an atrocious defensive team. Also had they put a non gaurenteed 3rd year on their (mutual option) then it would have been better for trade purposes. Since its only 2 years its not aweful, and they do have some nice peices, but they are gonna have a bottom 3 defense. Also Parker has had 1 good season and only 1 healthy season its alot 40 million is a decent chunk to pay someone who has a history of missing half the season.
