From what I see in that trade is that it takes a protected 1st rounder + 2nd rounder to dump 21 mil in expiring contracts. Deng with 18(next year) would take 2FRPs. I'd do that with LeBron in town.

The summer of 2019 is going to be crazy. Multiple teams with tons of cap space and if I heard right, 15 all-stars that will be available. Players are bound to start migrating back to the east coast since the West is so stacked with talent so teams like the Knicks and bulls could land an all-star.

Butler and DeRozan and a few more guys get paid superstar money but will never be the best player on a ring winning team. Butler is a no-nonsense hard balling stud, but I doubt I’d pay what the market will dictate his pay to be next offseason.

Given the coach he plays for, chances are he’ll play 42 minutes per game next season. Risky gamble. He should’ve taken the $110M and demanded a trade to the Lakers next offseason, in my opinion.

For the minimum then yes, why not?

But for practically a one year contract is he a better option than Greg Monroe?

I don't think Ainge wants to pay irving. I also don't think the Knicks have any assets worthy of acquiring him. Should be interesting.

Got a strong feeling Anthony Davis or Karl Anthony Towns will be Lakers in a year or so.

We’re getting stacked at the wings with both veterans and young talent on rookie contracts.

But we’ve got no great bigs.

At some point, an elite big man will give signs of declining an extension to join a superteam, and his OG team will deal him early like Indiana did with George to avoid the Spurs situation.
