Combining picks to move up is also a great option. Marks has so much flexibility. Curious to see what happens.

Will definatelly have to keep tabs on the Nuggets' season. If we can get a pick in the mid teens out of this deal...

FTR, I was touting Nassir Little in this very thread when he was ranked #10 and now he's #2, no longer a secret!
I was very impressed with him in the games where he played against Barrett and even seemed to outplay him as well. He then stole the McDonald's MVP from Barrett which propelled him all the way to #2.

Being realistic about this draft, all the talented players are guards and we need a skilled forward. I like Sekou Doumbouya and even if we're decent this season, we'll probably still have a chance to draft him or Zion Williamson in the later part of the lottery

I don't really like how all 3 of the "top" prospect right now are basically the same players. Not ultra athletic 6'6-7 dudes that all need to learn to shoot to be a real star. This might be a disaster.

Williamson needs to show a lot this winter at Duke. His high school footage is not impressive at all.

other then maybe center, we need everything. especially since crabbe/russell/dinwiddie are at least 50/50 to not return
you take best player available, period, top 3-5 which we should be

I still think we come in around 30 wins and the 7th or 8th worst record. Hopefully we make a top 3 jump from there.

I agree that the Nets should take the best player available, I just don't think that BPA will be easy to gague in this draft. Aside from RJ Barrett, a lot of the players projected in the lottery are flawed shooters. They'll spend a lot of time in the gym this season working on their game and sharpening their skillset, so their progress remains to be seen. But at this point, this feels like a draft where a player drafted in the late lottery might become the best player in the draft.

RJ Barrett is actually a flawed shooter, its the biggest question mark about his game. Cam Reddish and Nassir Little are both better shooters than him at this point.
I actually think that this draft class has some really good players. The top 5 guys (RJ, Reddish, Doumboya, Little, Williamson) are all super intriguing and would be great in a Nets uniform.

Can't remember where but someone was saying that Barrett has been working extensively on his shooting this summer and is vastly improving in this aspect if so, watch out! Can't wait to follow Duke this year!

6’7” & 285
Definitely out of shape & I hope they’re being conservative with the height, but he’s a tank. Hope he’s better at hoopin than Justice Winslow

Are we sure he's out of shape? That skin looks taut and look at his arms at 4:46. Questions about his work ethic are coming from lazy people making conclusions based off just his weight.
As an aside...it's strange seeing such a large human have a voice and innocence of a teenager haha.

Re: 2019 Draft Prospect Watch Thread
I'm skeptical of Williamson but the idea that he is out of shape is ridiculous. Out of shape players aren't jumping from the free throw line throwing down dunks. The kid's physique is tank like and he has elite athletic ability. If you're Sean Marks, he's definitely on your draft board in the lottery. I just need to see what else he can do besides bully smaller players. I will be watching Duke games like a hawk this year because they have multiple targets on their roster.
It would not be shocking if he ends up as a Net next season. That being said, we need to land the best athlete with upside in this draft. The kid who will be playing for UNC is an intriguing prospect, as well as the kid from Gonzaga.

theyre discussing Zion playing smallball 5 and he's so underskilled as a wing they're comparing him to tractor traylor

See this is what I was saying about a year or so ago about him. Nothing in his high school tape stood out outside of his size and athletic ability. His wingspan is only 6'10. That's not good.

I think his Freshman year will be very telling. We know that he does not have the wing skills now, but we really don't know how much he was being coached on those skills either. For all we know, the HS Coaches saw their ticket to a winning season by relying on Zion's sheer dominance, and asked him to not stray from that or work on developing other skills.
I'm glad he's going somewhere like Duke where Coach K is going to be asking for more fundamentals and development. He will be an interesting guy to watch this year.
