It sucks but she hasn't been the same since Mauricio died. She got the W tonight but still gotta be skeptical given her part-time fighter opponent.

She won’t ever be the same, which is sad to say. I know her opponent may be a gym teacher (or something like that), but she had some really good momentum coming into this one. This is a good win no matter how you look at it.

Imagine if Cat can somehow manage to pull off an upset and win the title? She’s only a win away from a title shot at this point, given the sad state of the WBW division

Haqparast is a top 5 boxer in the UFC.

He has that Hendricks / Gastellum way of hefting punches and leveraging the point of contact that is incredibly effective. You gotta have mobile shoulders, good connection from your shoulders to your hips, and a big ass. He, unlike, the two mentioned, seems to also have a serious drive to train & improve. TriStar and training with GSP is not going to hurt. That was an amazing performance.

This was a surprisingly fun card with a bunch of breakthrough performances. Obviously Smith is the big winner here, but Azaitar, Haqparast, and Rakic all put their divisions on notice as well.

He both looks like, and fights like Gastellum.

Are you saying that just because he's there? Because Dana definitely doesn't have the power to police where warlords go in Russia.

If the UFC gave a ****, they'd not allow them in.

Found this article in the thread as well. https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2017/11/9/16615832/oil-sheikhs-combat-sports-violent-gulf-monarchies-investing-mma-bjj-karim-zidan-feature

It's just a fascinating subject on the whole.

They do have the power to sign or not sign fighters from his MMA team and by placing Ankalaev on this card, they knew full well what was happening.

I just don't get why you go full blast on Khabib for his loose association with Kadyrov but Dana's signing his fighters and putting them on cards in Russia and it's ho hum.

I feel like you misinterpreted my legitimate question as a defense of Dana. I had no idea that Dana was signing his fighters. I have no idea if Dana had any power to keep him away or not, I assumed not tbh. I thought that may be a venue decision who is banned or not, if even that, because of the amount of power this scumbag wields. If Dana is friendly with him then I'm happy to call him out on it. I legitimately had idea if he was though. Someone said Taisumov gushed about him in his postfight speech which, if true, makes me happy to add him to the list of scumbags.

I could easily say the same for you BTW. You're cool with Khabib vacationing with the dude, but he buys a ticket and shows up at a UFC event and you're mad at Dana?

The more we look at the sport, the more we realize that this whole thing is being used as a prop by evil people.

I'd have a ranking for scumbaggery:

Tier 1: People like Dana, Kadyrov, Putin: People with serious power
Tier 2: Ali, Conor, Werdum: The accepting pawns from outside the region
Tier 3: Khabib, Taisumov, the rest of the Chechen fighters: They're from the region and are pawns to this whole game in part by birth
Tier 4: Colby Covington

LOL Thago Alves's physique. ReddZone aghast but I am going to state with near certainty that the man was on steroids (the Hughes fight holy eff).

Someone please hook him up with Bernman's source for USADA-evading gear.

What a weird event today. Over the card, there's a dozen fighters who have headlined cards in the past. A clear dozen. Yet, no single fight other the main has any import or stands out.

OMG - watching FN 136 Prelims. There has not been a worse non-stoppage in the UFC in recent history than in that Dolloway fight. Thankfully, the shots were not damaging. But God damn, how could Herb not see that there was 40+ seconds where CB was in full-on _attempting to communicate to Herb_ that he was done? CB was deliberately rolling into postures that were capitulating. He went belly down, both hands over the back of his head, flat on the ground. Herb let him continue getting hit, and let the round finish. WTF? Again, none of the shots were brutal and CB retained consciousness, it was just such a lack of judgment on Herb's fault. And then he made CB verbally quit between rounds. **** ****.

WAtch it from 4:15 on...
