I only use the eye test. He slow, has a broken jumper, is a weak ball-handler, he just doesn’t have it.
I see some JR Smith in his game. (In a good way). It’s only SL though so it’s hard to tell for sure, but I like him. We shall see

They say he should be playing by October-November. But it probably means that Thibs will not play him in 2018.

If Isaac stays healthy, he could start making a name for himself.

Fultz is the most likely out of that group to me. I expect Lonzo's shooting numbers to improve, but i'm not sure his raw numbers will considering he's playing with so many ball handlers.

TheGOATWill wrote:On my team, obviously Kuzma. The kid has everything on offense. But if I'm being objective, it's Markelle Fultz. I don't even necessarily think he's going to start for Philly but I do think he will finish them ahead of Covington. He's great in transition and I expect PHI to play fast especially when Embiid is off the floor. His shot problem to me looked mental not physical. Looking at him at summer league for a few seconds, he looks like he's been in the weight room. The dude is 6'5" and cat quick. Expecting to see a much better player this year.
if his shot is back he would probably start for Redick. Simmons Embiid and Covington either made all defense teams or got mutiple votes and adding another athlete with defensive potential in Fultz could be killer. Theres a lot to play around with there but I'd expect Fultz to come off the bench all year unless someone is hurt, the Sixers had the best starting lineup by many metrics last season so im not sure you want to mess with that too early.

Players like Tatum and Mitchell. From where they would get the improvement? Most likely their role doesn't chance and at least Tatum have to live with Hayward coming back. Tatum was very efficient last year, but it is very unlikely he will repeat it. Mitchell's role stays the same, so for him it's hard to see big leap forward.
Lakers guys Ball and Kuzma. They have LeBron, Rondo and other people. So it means their role is smaller. They might be more efficient in the end of the season, but if you take 20% less shots it's hard to say player have become better. Only one who might get clear improvement in Lakers is Hart, who might get more playing time and being good 3 point shooter he might get lots of those with LeBron.
Markkanen and Jackson. Jackson started to look good, but now they added Ayton, so his role will be smaller. Markkanen's situation is lousier. He and LaVine were awful together. Games where LaVine played his amount of shots were much lower than without. And now LaVine plays full season. Add Parker who also wants same amount of shots as LaVine it means amount of shots Markkanen will get is half from last year or at least will be in beginning of season, so his scoring will drop a lot.
Tatum was sub-par as a rebounder. I hope he'll fix that. Finishing through contact is a learned skill for almost everybody (because contact is different in the NBA than in lesser leagues), plus he's young enough to still gain a lot of strength. P&R ball handling should be a lot better on the Cs than it was last season, so Tatum may get some more roll opportunities. Tatum's playoff defense also looked a lot better than what he did in the regular season, even if the results really matched that only in the Philly series, so there's good upside there as well.

Frank Ntilikina. I think with consistent minutes he will continue to show he’s one of the leagues best perimeter defenders and floor generals. Look forward to seeing a developing offensive game as well. He has worked on his finishing and fadeaways in the post. I think his offensive aggression is all mental and he will get past it. That was bias.
The Sopmhore I think will make the biggest jump is the 3 legit ROY candidates in Tatum, Mitchell, and Simmons. These 3 guys will evolve into the faces of next gen.

Don't sleep on DJ Wilson. Last year he had 21/10/3/3/1 in very limited action. We could very easily see 42/20/6/6/2 this year which would be incredible. Double the production. I forgot to mention, that's on a total basis, not per game.

Re: Which sophomores will make a major leap this year?
Frank Ntilikina has been the best players since making him lead guard. We had Trey Burke and Tim as our 1 and 2. Frank runs an actual offense and has been lethal from 3. The team looks together and he seriously looks like his offense is coming along. Averaging 16.5 in his 2 games starting as the lead guard.
He looks more agressive, he’s shooting .41% from 3. His defense looks elite, Curry gave him major props after the GSW game, too bad Fiz completly blew it for them. He clamped down Durant in a sequence. I just can’t wait for Knox and KP to return with Mitch as Frank being the lead guy.
People need to give him more repect.

I'd say it's about a tie. Fox is better, but most of this board thought Collins was a complete bust last year. Everyone was already on the Fox train and knew he'd be good, might be a bit ahead of schedule but a lot of people we're on board with his potential.
I firmly believe that Collins is already bordering on elite in the defensive side of the ball, and now in his sophomore year, he's beginning to have legitimate offensive outbursts... You could probably argue either way with Collins/Fox on this... They'll probably both normalize in shooting percentages as the year goes on though.
In short, I think the magnitude that each has improved this year is probably extremely similar. Fox just had a higher starting point.
