And from all the pictures of his presser, he looks as lean as he did when he was a teenage rookie trying to convince TMac that he could help TMac win in Orlando. Ya can't say that Howard doesn't work hard.

Yeah but his sugar addiction was no joke.

If he's cleaned up that aspect of his health, and Brooks makes sure that we give him the ball enough so that he plays defense with some hustle (get him a couple 20 point games early and go into 2019 with 18+ppg) we'll definitely win on this deal.

But he's also going to turn 33 in December so, we can very easily crap out too.

Brooks basically confirmed Markieff as a starter

smh, gonna lose 5 games we shouldn't right off the jump from trying to force that fit

Ehhh. You're overthinking it. Kieff has been the starter and the only reason you change that in July is if someone is CLEARLY better. Love Oubre, but he didnt break through enough to where Brooks should be making any proclamation this early.

You could be right - but it always seems like he goes after the bigs - the Brooks gets to/has to play them. Nicholson/Smith/Mahimni would be exhibit A. Keeping Morris and getting Green along with having Howard, Mahinmi, Bryant and Smith enables him to not play small ball.

Uhh, yes he has. Morris is garbage. They have been better with Oubre in place of Morris for 2 years straight, not just better, wayyyyyy better. It would be completely asinine to continue to start morris. I wont watch a game if that’s the case

Agree. You don't want to make news in July by announcing (or suggesting) a change in your starting lineup. At this point, it's about building team unity and avoiding unnecessary controversy and drama.

That approach might not sit well with some fans but it's the smart management thing to do. There's plenty of time to decide who starts, who plays how many minutes, and who will be on the court at crunch time.

Howard is a workout maniac. Honestly he's in better shape than most players in their 20s. I have no concerns about his body holding up, from a physical standpoint he can easily go another 4-5 seasons.

Yep, and there is no question about his basketball IQ either. He just has to care about winning more than he does messing around on the court.
