We're not trading Matz at the waiver deadline. If we do anything, it'll be after we hire our new GM and he/she picks our staff. I'm fine with that. I also happen to think that means that we'll most likely keep our four starters together to start next season.

Like I said already, the Mets still truly feel that this team can contend next year with this team. Who needs defense, a bullpen, hitters or speed. If I would've told you that we'd be competing with the Marlins for last place this year, I would've been laughed at and ridiculed yet that's where we are.

What's going to improve next year? Are we going to expect two rookies in McNeil and Alsono solving our issues?
Is Bruce going to remember how to hit? Hey don't forget, he might block Alonso at first.
Will we ever have a catcher that can actually help our pitching staff?

While on paper a pitching staff of deGrom, Thor, Wheeler, Matz is indeed impressive, it's a fool me again moment.

He even threw the most pitches for our team last night. I understand why we let him walk when he first left, you just don't give a guy who relies on his legs that type of money, but I mean we did build the ballpark to suit him and Wright essentially.

it’s been a long time since you last did.

I would rather he just go out there and pitch a decent game, it's not as if he's been doing that lately either. I don't want this team to be bad, but how does one even put up an argument for what this team does? Would you disagree that the Mets believe that with their pitching staff they can contend next year? So where is the hitting going to come from? Mets will talk up a bounce back year from Bruce probably, hell maybe even D'Arnaud!

Do we really expect Callaway to be back? That'll be a new coach.
Sandy is done, that'll be a new GM.

A new coach and GM that'll have to deal with the dumpster fire that is this roster. A star pitcher who wants to be paid in deGrom who is just wasting his career here.

If that's the case why do we bother with the Knicks and Mets? Stop being silly, you know damn well it's hard to defend this team. Why is it the Knicks can be criticized but the Mets can't? Hell they deserve more criticism, they have their own network and can spend all day long.
