Tatum was much more consistent game to game coming in to the league. They had similar weaknesses but Tatum had a better body coming in and a much better feel for the game passing-wise especially in transition. Knox may be a more explosive athlete though which helps. Knox has a way to go to reach Tatum's refinement skill-wise though.

Probably never will. That's still ok.

His father says that he compares his game to Scottie Pippen or Kevin Durant, while Knox says he models his game after names like Grant Hill, Brandon Ingram and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Y’all letting complexion narrarate your comparisons still I see. Tatum is one of the craftiest wings around the league. Knox is still a little raw around the rim when not dunking . I still see young PG13 with less defense.
Brooklyn Nets
Damian Lillard - Rajon Rondo - Trey Burke
Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles

He's not exactly like any of those players, but I can see how they've influenced his development. His frame is something between Giannis and Ingram, and his daddy is hoping that the playmaking skill set looks like Grant Hill. Maybe it's just the no. 20 on his back, but the jumper looks potentially smoother than Grant Hill's.

Great sign that he's not really comparable to anyone. Opposing teams won't know how to handle him.

A combo of Kevin Durant, Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan, and Hakeem all in one. Guaranteed 1st ballot hall of famer, with averages of 35/15/12 career, 8 championships

His game is nothing like Pippen.

I disagree. His own father, a professional athlete himself compares his son's game to that of Scottie Pippen.

Use some common sense man, it's his father.

Rashard wasn't as athletic as Knox. Didn't have his ability to rebound and push end-to-end either. Nor could Rashard be a ballhandler out of the pick and roll. Rashard was a stretch 4.

If you're still very young, you might have gotten that impression. It is wrong though.

Lewis had so much potential, thougjt he was going to be Durant before Durant. Maybe he was born 10 years to early.

Between his dad and himself, they clearly want to identify with some lanky, tall, dribble and pass forwards. Hopefully he can develop into even a reasonable facsimile of Grant Hill or Pippen - even if it's only 1/2 or a 3/4's of their driving and passing game.

No doubt the only part of Grant Hill the Knicks will get with Knox is the injuries....

i think his style of play definately was ahead of the game. what also hurt him was the trade to orlando, Lewis was THE OG stretch 4, when he couldve been so much more. but Van gundy was parking everbody around howard at the 3 point line.

//EDIT

Welp, if it wasnt for Kobe he wouldve had a ring, so i guess it didnt hurt him really. I also just noticed Skip To My Lou was playing in these finals lol
im bout dat action boss

The comparison will ultimately only matter to the extent of his ability to be a scorer and one that plays within the team concept. Yep I sound like Phil but he's still right.

But it's a numbers game really. You can say Brandon Ingram reminds you of Vin Baker, and that kind of comparison might be valid, but what matters is whether a guy is a first scorer, second scorer, third scorer, and whether he's able to come up big in the big games.
