I think the idea is that he's closer to his peak/more refined than the other prospects. He would be my lead candidate.

that's a reasonable explanation. nothing wrong with what you said. but i have seen other people talking him up as a generational talent. ive seen it with my own eyes lol

I've seen some say that. If I were to guess I'd put him as a borderline to frequent All Star. Very, very good player. But I don't see generational. Not enough physical tools.

Sort of a conundrum. Since summer league doesn't matter, we don't really know what these guys can do, except play well in the G-League or Turkey etc.

Therefore, I have zero opinion of Knox or MRob, as, well, it was summer league.

You aren’t of course seeing what their careers will be with any reliability but you actually are seeing what they can do in the most straightforward meaning of the phrase.

Career performance will be based on consistency and luck and some other intangibles.

If Knox can be the alpha before KP comes back, then he might not win ROY but he'll do the Knicks a massive favor by forcing THJr and Burke to improve efficiency. Timmy's got that contract locked down, so he might actually defer to the kid.

Burke on the other hand...

Hopefully Knox gets 12+ shot attempts and a sh*tload of FTs.

yea luca is crazy overhyped. that said, kid dominated the strongest league outside of the NBA aand many people say, for people that talented the transition to the NBA (solely on court) is easy for those kids. i can see luca putting up huge statlines. but kevin love did the same, we wont know until 2 or 3 years in how good that guy actually is.

i just dont see how this kid is such front runner for ROY. my early ROY sleepers are Sexton and Wendall Carter Jr

//EDIT
obviously high key hoping on Kevin Knox to have a great year and win ROY
im bout dat action boss

IDK what yall talking about. Luka is good. He's like the superstar version of Ginolbli in terms of skill. The only question is will he translate to the NBA. Its not hard to see him translating because he dominated his league at 18. That's unheard of.

Lets not forget him cooking and shooting over an NBA player in Porzingis numerous times and beat him.

His potential is really exciting. The size, the length, the desire to get inside, but then add in that really pretty release on his J. I know it needs work but the release and his apparent guts in taking on a large share of offense.

It's always a long shot that a guy will be a great player but if he could be a number 1 scorer, KP might fit in as a 2 or 3. KP is nowhere close to a true 1 IMO.

He's also more cerebral and a student of the game than people thought.

I just hope that this fanbase gives him a chance to actually grow & develop!

His consistency on Offense is still something he needs to work on too (it was my biggest concern for him at UK & coming into the Draft).

Timmy's got that contract locked down, so he might actually defer to the kid. I'm sure the Vonleh signing was to help keep us focused on simulating a lineup with two bigs but I think there's plenty of minutes for the types of lineups where that ball can fly and shots go up. Just gotta pick up the pace.

Burke on the other hand...

Hopefully Knox gets 12+ shot attempts and a sh*tload of FTs.

I think that could happen anyway so long as the Knicks quit playing 3 damn C's and pick up the pace.

If Kanter wants to make himself useful he should be working on his outlet passes right about now.

I've said since before we Drafted him.and while he was at Kentucky, that he reminded me of a Klay Thompson or Danny Granger type the way he's cerebral and approaches the Game.

If he bulks up and becomes more of a PF, then he can become an Antwan Jamison type IMO.

Ofcourse he'll be his own special player like Unicorn, but just projecting what I saw in terms of game comparison styles. I've been pretty good at it over the years. :D
