If he has any kind of fracture, you gotta shut him down for the year. He has no game other than his athleticism, so if he's not 100% or if he's at risk of re-injury, he's of no use.

I logged in just to remind some of you that this will now be the fifth consecutive year, that our first round pick has missed or sat out the majority of a season.

Like honestly how is this **** still happening?

Why do we deserve this EVERY YEAR?

I am legit so sick of this... regardless of whether or not he was going to be a big impact guy, he was going to atleast help, and now this sets him back. YOU ALREADY KNOW it will be serious and will be an entire year missed, so let's not even pretend otherwise

at some point, bad luck isn't an excuse anymore

All you can do is laugh at the absurdity of our luck with first rounders.

Is it luck at this point or is the much vaunted player development program rubbish?

Just when it was happily boring around here with no real news....

I know our history, but I'm going to hope for the best while expecting the worse. Zhaire is the absolute wrong guy to have to sit out for a season, he needs a huge amount of development and being hurt definitely doesn't help that at all.

You have to start to wonder how does the Sixers continue to allow this to happen, I mean twice is a coincidence......but this is getting ridiculous. Hard to blame them, but this many times in a row has to make you wonder.

I’m putting on the tin foil hat take here and saying: Are the Sixers making up some of these injuries because they want their rookies to redshirt and acclimate to the lifestyle before playing?

I honestly am starting to run out of any other rational explanation how it so happens that Sixer rookies, and pretty much only Sixer rookies, get hurt. Every. Single. Year.

Is this part of The Process ? Don't know if I'd want to be selected by the Sixers if I was a 1st rounder, too much bad ju-ju

Welcome Zhaire Smith

The messages on twitter are hilarious, but it is a sad notice... again.

It seems that every time a rookie is not ready for the NBA, Philadelphia put him on the disabled list, so he have a year getting ready.
The question is, important injury equal great future player and slight injury equal regular future player?

Anyway, Zhaire Smith has a great athletics but he needs to improve his shot, with foot injury or not.

Best wishes for Zhaire, I hope it's a slight injury and he will be a great player or at least a good rotation player.

We already have the answer to that after what happened last year. Eric Jr already exposed that charade.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Zhaire keeping the streak alive.

Shamet and Furkan just moved up the depth chart.
