That's extremely overly harsh. Nez is better than that bum.

Maybe twice as good. So I'll give him $4M.

The market for bigs is completely suppressed right now. Cousins only got a $5m deal in this market.

And Deandre got 24 mil. A healthy Cousins gets a max deal.

And he’s at least twice as good as Kanter, so 2.5?

To be fair he is coming off the most devastating injury there is in basketball, a ruptured achilles.

And if reports are to be believed, the Pels offered Boogie a deal (I believe a 1 +1 at 20 mill per) and he turned it down b/c he felt insulted the Pels didn't offer him a longer deal

Moneywise, at least in the short term, I think he played himself but perhaps long term might be good for his career, Warriors got a hell of good training and medical staff

I agree to the effect that he shouldn't be paid starter money regardless but we did lose all those games. It's not like we benched him and then all of a sudden we were in contention. I never got that either when Jeff would do it but hey, I wanted to tank anyway. Often times I'd watch Kanter beasting all game and that's not to say we were going to secure a win either, but we'd be in the mix for a win and then seemingly outta nowhere it's like Hornicek looks at his watch and said "time to bench Kanter" regardless of how he was playing all game.

So what I'm saying is I don't believe Kanter was benched because he gave us a worse chance of winning, he was benched cause he gave us a good chance of winning....or at least a decent chance. I think the whole thing of we're doing it for defense was bull. And yeah I get he isn't a good defender but he's always a bad defender. Why in that moment consistently do it?

Again, Idc. I just wouldn't take too many lessons from whatever we did in the second half of the year outside of maybe development

I think the biggest issue with your statement has to do with the fact that you think we're basing this off last season. This has happened many times before, on the biggest stage. In the playoffs, Kanter's coach famously said on live tv, "Can't play Kanter." The proof is there. Kanter will never get minutes at the end of the game, for a good team, in big moments. It's too easy to get him on a switch, easy to get past an initial defender and score on him.

The other issue is this: Hornacek didn't tank. I think it's wrong to bring up arguments like that, without supporting proof. Hornacek didn't tank, didn't want to tank, and coached like he didn't tank. While the Bulls were resting their guys, we were trotting out our lineup against them. He clearly didn't bench Burke, Lee or all the other guys. The FO (Perry) certainly did not give him that directive to tank, and Perry has never really shown a history of tanking. When you talk about Hornacek benching Kanter to tank, I think that's a false argument, without merit, and one that has to be created to justify Kanter's value (which is only relative to guys like KOQ or Noah or Willy or Kornet).

Kanter's peers are also very similar. Brook Lopez earned a crap ton of money and minutes. With the Bucks, low contract. Greg Monroe. 2 mill minimum. Jahlil Okafor...bye bye. The proof was basically in Kanter's decision not to opt out. There was no market for him. There won't be one last year either. They all have some sort of valuable skillset. Lopez is an offensive beast who can hit the three. Monroe has good rebounding, interior skills, passing. Okafor...lol, j/k. But all of these guys can't overcome their defensive limitations. They're coming off the bench, because when you're playing against Lebron, Curry, Harden or a true star, Kanter's limitations become indefensible. Against Orlando? Sure, hell yea, go get that 20-20 Kanter, but no one's impressed.

Kanter has his strengths: rebounding, leadership, scoring, passion. But until his defensive IQ rises significantly, he's only going to be starting for the bad teams and coming off the bench for the good ones. I'd rather just sign Monroe for 2 mill if he demands even 7 mill+

The funny part of Kan’t-er showing off his ranger is the fact, his 3-pointer has no arc. That shot will be blocked by a guard on a switch.

Watch as teams force Kanty to the corner and DARE him to shoot. Bricks to come!

Frank and Muddy Rivers can be something IF they learn to be physical. No layup rule 2!!!!!!
