Water could mist up and affect navigation instruments. Atmospheric conditions could suddenly turn bad before anyone could adjust.

Wow, I want hear more.
But also, why are the ships and planes never found??
I remember reading that astronauts leaving the earth's surface noticed the dark color of the ocean in the Bermuda Triangle.

That's what you get for doing your laundry in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle

I Can't.
Just saw it on science channel or NGC or something several years ago and my draw dropped that astronauts noticed that specific area and IIRC it was in the news as well

It’s interesting but I wouldn’t drop my draws over it.

I don't believe this Bermuda Triangle story. I remember reading some time ago about a possible magnetic field in that area. That would make more sense as to why plane and boat navigation instruments went crazy while in the triangle and why some never made it out.
As for the missing socks, that mystery has been solved. Socks sometimes get pulled between the drum of the washer and the exterior wall by the agitator. If you were to remove your washing drum, you'd probably find several socks and other items that got stuck in there as well.
Here's the link and video explaining it:

3 causes:
*Socks often get stuck the the sides of the machine and are not always visabile
*Socks can get hidden in other articles of clothing and fall out at any time

Re: OT: Bermuda Triangle Mystery Solved?!
Fun fact: Vincent Gaddis coined the term "Bermuda Triangle" in 1964 with this article for Argosy magazine, which was a fiction magazine:
https://www.physics.smu.edu/pseudo/BermudaTriangle/vincentgaddis.txt
It only became "real" after that after noticing a lot of coincidences in that area/people drawing attention to it after knowing that article was published.

Re: OT: Bermuda Triangle Mystery Solved?!
All I really cared about was not flying over it. I figured it had to do with some kind of severe atmospheric change. I didn't think it was the Loch Ness monster's distant cousin.
Still, very interesting. I'm sure with the earth heating up, this will get ever more dangerous.

not correct actually, in 1945 five US bombers were lost in the area and people were wondering about the "bermuda triangle" ever since. it is possible that the name is from that time you quoted but people were well aware that planes and ships are getting lost in that area
im bout dat action boss

Oh yeah, I'm sure there was stuff going on in that area, just that the term and then the popularity and attention drawn to it with the name being attached made people really start thinking about it as a phenomenon instead of just some area off of Florida where some ships and airplanes get lost every now and then.
