Joe Budden: "Jimmy Butler wants to join the Knicks"

If this has been talked about already then please lock it up. I know there where rumors that Jimmy Butler was unhappy with the TWolves and wanted to pair up with Kyrie Irving next offseason. And since Kyrie's name has been linked with the Knicks it's only natural to think that Jimmy would want to come to NY and pair up with Kyrie if he were to sign here but it was always speculation. Well according to Joe Budden, Butler has been open about his interest in signing with the Knicks if certain things were to fall into place.

Now regardless if he signs or not it's still exciting to think about. This also kinda adds more weight to what Dahntay Jones said about the Knicks being a hot spot next offseason. Regardless it looks like we're in for some exciting times ahead Knicks fans. Get excited

Fans are going to act all gangster about holding out for a bigger star or waiting for next year, but this has Steve Mills deadline trade written all over it.

I’m okay with w deadline trade depending on what the trade is.
If you can move Noah in the deal even if it costs you a first rounder it may make sense

Assuming it would be THJr or Lee + Frank + some sort of draft pick package. If a Butler deal somehow clears enough cap space for an additional max FA signing this offseason, then Mills (read: Dolan) will offer basically any and all of the Knicks future picks.

Curious what certain things fall in place. Is he talking about cap space in general to offer the max?

I'm ok with including a FUTURE 1st round pick to move Noah. 2019 pick is untouchable and if that's whats between us and getting space to sign Jimmy, then he can kick rocks imo.

EDIT: Just watched the clip, so he is talking about Lee, THJr and Noahs contracts. Interesting.

According to Robert, we are signing Lebron, Kawhi, Kyrie, Butler, KD, Davis, and Cousins.

Noah+ THJR + Mudiay +2nd round pick + 2019 pick swap option top 5 protected for Butler and Taj Gibson.

Trade Lee to somebody straight up or attach a future 2nd to it.

because he actually made basketball sense. He didn't just say they want to be here but if they can do something with the following 3 contracts (Noah - stretch, Lee and THjr with a trade) we would have pretty much 2 max spots which has been discussed before.

We need the two max spots though. Which is why I have no idea were aren't just trying to get rid of Lee or THjr any chance we have...
