NCAA To Allow 'Elite' Prospects To Hire Agents

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Aug 8, 2018 4:19 pm

The NCAA will allow "elite" high school and college players to be represented by agents. The initial proposal indicates USA Basketball would determine the "elite" criteria.

Players can be eligible for the NBA Draft and return to school if they go undrafted.

That's pretty subjective. I smell a court case.

The NCAA is so pathetic, as per usual.

Agreed!

How "elite" are they if they go undrafted?

Exactly, this doesn't make sense!

Not to mention, how about coming back to school ever if they do get drafted, assuming they hold off on signing their contract

What a joke.

The NBA needs to fund and handle its own minor-league systems. I guess private universities can do what they want as well.

Forcing tax payers to participate in this clown show via publicly funded land grant universities has to stop. Who benefits? Some huckster agents, some overpaid ADs, and the tiny percentage of kids who get the big pro contracts. Meanwhile the majority of people get crushed with taxes and insane student debt.

The elite players are going to get drafted. It's the non-elite guys who need this rule. If a player is drafted can he still go to college like Larry Bird did? And would the team keep his draft rights?
