Not sure I remember the last time a team walked the tying run to put the winning run at the plate regardless of right/left. Britton, a sinker ball pitcher who never gives up HR's, made a terrible pitch and it got crushed. He also hit the #9 hitter to lead off the inning, another backup catcher starting the rally, just like Sandy Leon did against Chapman on Sunday. At some point you gotta blame the players.

Loved that emotion. That's gotta feel good for him. Hey who knows? Maybe sonny can be a reliable long reliever in the playoffs? He looked sharp tonight.

Despite Severino being mortal in his last 5 starts, I expect him to regain his form. If not, he needs to sue Pedro.

I can't stand Sonny Gray but he came through last night. That was big. Would have been another bad loss to swallow to another crappy team. They need to take advantage of this upcoming schedule.

- Texas 4 games (Home)
- Mets Makeup game (Home)
- Tampa 3 games (Home)
- Toronto 3 games (Home)
- Miami 2 games (Away)
- Baltimore 4 games (Away)
- Chicago 3 games (Home)
- Detroit 4 games (Home)

Every team is below .500 so they need to go on a run. The Rays are 1 game over .500 but still this is a very soft part of the schedule. Win series, no splits. No more of this .500 ball that they are better than. Win.

Looks like the Yanks are the worst best team or best worst team. At least they can beat up on bums for a month. :-)
