Walker isn't in the lineup tonight... Brilliant.

The front office makes the lineups, Boone is basically a puppet for them. That's pretty much almost every manager now a days.

Voit and robinson are players the mets would roll out. Every time they play they struggle to score
Mets front office might be taking over the yankees

In case you were wondering, Torreyes entering tonight's game for SWB is slashing .389/.436/.444 in the 9 games since his short stint in high-A.

Not sure what the organization has against Torreyes. A good clubhouse guy, great contact hitter, good fielder. Not sure what the problem is.
I know he was away for a while due to family, but he should be on the major league roster.

We should honestly consider making a run at Donaldson at the waiver deadline. His price should be low and he can play 1B/3B and sub in for Andujar late in games while spelling at DH.

Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles

Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III

Re: Official 2018 Yankees Thread
Glad I missed this one. Was listening to Spike Lee talk for a NY minute after the screening of BlacKKKlansman (great film) in Brooklyn.
From what I gather, Tanaka just didn't have it. He traditionally doesn't pitch well against Texas, so it didn't surprise me.
Back in May, Andy Pettitte was in the booth with David Cone and they talked about how the cutter would definitely HELP Tanaka reduce the # home runs he gives up.
Keep in mind, if you grew up watching Jack Morris, arguably the best post season split finger pitcher...guys have to have that sink. If the ball stays up, it's GONE. George Bell used to murder Morris for homers before the first inning was over.
Now, what Pettitte was talking about, he did learn/master the cutter but he LOST his ability to throw the outside breaking pitch that Tanaka currently throws which (when its on) is devastating out pitch. So it's a trade off.
I dunno.
I think most of it is mental.
When the pressure is on, he will deliver. That game at Fenway, the umps were hosing him BADLY. NEVER did I see that guy give the ump a dirty look when he was lifted...and he was RIGHT. A-Rod on the replay, Tanaka punched out Betts but the ump called ball. That tightened the strike zone which led to the home run.

Just looked up Holder's stats for no particular reason. Allowed an earned run 3 of his last 7 games and a baserunner in 6 of his last 7. Why is he here over Kahnle again?

You judged his whole season based on his last 7 games?

It's his latest bad stretch, one that really pops out with that blunder at Fenway. He's had some good stretches this season too, particularly a good May, but I'd still rather have Kahnle on the team.

Ceiling wise, I would also rather have kahnle, but I dont know if kahnle is any where close to what he was last season. If it is kahnle from earlier this season than I would rather have ty clippard

He's been doing well in AAA and did well in his one appearance in Fenway last week. Heard he might have dropped 2-3 mph on his fastball velocity though. Even so, I think I'd still take him over Holder.

Feels like Stanton is always coming to the plate with no runners on. I just don’t get why he’s not batting clean up. Not trying to get into a debate as this has been battered already. But I want him coming to the plate with guys in scoring position.

I told my brother this the other day. Not sure where I would rank Stanton as far as the best players in MLB. Having said that Giancarlo is certainly Top 10.
