Anthony Becht is commentating Jet games now. He probably dropped the microphone when they gave it to him

Even though it's preseason, Darnold is looking like the real deal. Just like Barkley yesterday, you just know Darnold is going to be a stud.

Sam just showed what the hype is all about. I was very impressed with that drive.

He looked pretty good. Tough to gauge anything from last night though, Atlanta's defense was full on vanilla. He should start next week with the 1's. I thought Bridgewater looked like pre injury Teddy which is a good problem to have.

NFL suspended LB Kevin Pierre-Louis one game for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Pierre-Louis was arrested for misdemeanor possession in January. He joins Rashard Robinson and ArDarius Stewart on the Jets' early-season suspension list. The Jets knew Pierre-Louis was facing a suspension before signing him, so it won't impact his roster status.

this news for kdot
Jaguars suspend Jalen Ramsey for a week
Posted by Michael David Smith on August 12, 2018, 7:00 PM EDT

AP
Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey went off on a Jacksonville reporter, and the Jaguars aren’t happy about it.

As a result, Ramsey has been suspended for a week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Ramsey had words, both on the practice field and on Twitter, with Phillip Heilman, a reporter for Jacksonville.com. Heilman tweeted a video of a fight between Jacksonville’s Yannick Ngakoue and Dante Fowler at Jaguars training camp, and the video ends with Ramsey looking at Heilman and yelling, “Y’all stop recording that!”

Afterward, Ramsey tweeted at Heilman, “you know you done messed up right? Lol if y’all want war, we got sum for y’all. & Iknow the rest of y’all (you know who you are) gone read this too so just know #LameAssReporters.”

Ramsey then tweeted, “I’m always gone take up for my teammates kus I know what type of men and players they are forreal! Love my dawgs! If you don’t like it, oh well. God bless.”

Teams want players to follow league rules about media relations, but it’s surprising that the Jaguars would suspend Ramsey for this. There may be more to the story, but whatever the reasons, the Jaguars have decided to give their All-Pro cornerback a week to cool off.

Sam Darnold received a majority of reps at camp Sunday.

Darnold's late start to camp seems like a thing of the past following his stellar debut (13-of-18 for 96 yards and one score) in the Jets' preseason opener. He was the third play-caller to take the field Friday, but received more practice reps than either Josh McCown or Teddy Bridgewater Sunday. His playing time against Washington Thursday could be a nod to where he stands as New York's Week 1 starter.

Saquon Barkley tweaks leg, Pat Shurmur thinks he’s OK
Posted by Josh Alper on August 13, 2018, 12:29 PM EDT

AP
Giants running back Saquon Barkley showed off his knack for making big plays in Monday’s practice, but the team got a scare in the process.

Barkley reeled in a long Kyle Lauletta pass down the sideline with his fingertips before going to get checked out by members of the team’s medical staff. Barkley had a wrap and ice pack put on his left leg for a short time, but it was off by the time he and the rest of the team walked off the field.

Giants head coach Pat Shurmur said he didn’t see what happened to Barkley, but that he thinks all is well.

“Think he’s all right, we’ll find out,” Shurmur said, via Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com.

The Giants are headed to Detroit for Tuesday’s start to joint practices with the Lions. If there’s any doubt about Barkley being 100 percent, he’ll likely be limited for those sessions.

Responding to Terrelle Pryor's claim that his May ankle issue was a new break, Jets coach Todd Bowles said Pryor should "keep his mouth shut and leave the injuries to me."

Pryor has typically had a difficult time endearing himself to his coaches, so it's notable as he tries to secure his 53-man roster spot. "Just" $1 million of Pryor's $3 million base salary is guaranteed. Pryor, who is coming back from what he says was an injury-ruined 2017 in Washington, was inactive for the Jets' preseason opener. He's also expected to sit out Thursday's game against his old team.
