That's about as likely as Trump juggling snowballs in hell

HOWEVER

Trump is dumb, so I'm speaking from the POV of someone who knows how bad it would be for Trump to pardon Manafort. But since Trump still can't understand simple concepts like lawyer-client privilege I wouldn't say it is impossible for him to try pardoning people.

I hope he does. It will open up the gates of hell for Trump

This whole situation is evidence of that. None of this would be happening if Trump didn't fire Comey and just waited 3 weeks for Comey to say that there isn't enough evidence at the moment to pursue a collusion case.

Trump is the tip of the iceberg really. There's all of the forces that aligned behind him. And those forces used him as much as he used them.

Imagine if the Manchurian Candidate elected had been a straightlaced monster like Pence. We'd be in another situation right now.

So I'm thankful everyday that Trump is a crazed, low IQ narcissist. He is going to bring the whole circus tent down around him with his antics.

Trump is officially an unindicted co-conspirator now that Cohen's guilty plea indicate he acted on Trump's instructions.

We can be 99% certain now Cohen won't be getting a pardon because using a pardon on a co-conspirator is the worst thing Trump could possibly do.

That was always my concern with Cruz, you may recall.

All variations of unpalatable "would you rather" questions, I know.

Trump's greater appeal than Cruz is certainly attributable to Cruz being the least appealing politician alive. As for Trump's appeal, well there's a swath of Americans who go for that kind of thing.

But Cruz as the GOP nominee or elected President is a scary thought too.

Romney was probably the the last of the status quo right of center candidates. The GOP at this point seems to be the haven for depraved, power hungry nut jobs.

Similar to here. News and comments coming out from leftist/centrist/rational conservative commenters. Snarky Cap. Quiet period for the Trump faithful while awaiting the arrival of instructions they get on with their busy lives.

They can relax, because any day now Devin Nunes will announce a new, utterly devastating inquiry into the malfeasance of the FBI, the Special Counsel and Sears Roebuck that will blow Mueller out of the water and restore order to the universe.

Huffpost, which is pretty left skewed, but doesn't mean they can't write a good or true article:

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/paul-manafort-lobbying_us_5b75d040e4b0a5b1feb92453

Spoiler:
Paul Manafort Is Just A Tiny Part Of DC’s Lobbying Corruption
And he’s not the only person Mueller’s investigation has implicated.

By Paul Blumenthal
Every decade, Washington gets a big reminder about the corrosive influence of lobbyists in the Capitol, the White House and the executive bureaucracy. Koreagate, Michael Deaver, Wedtech and, of course, Jack Abramoff. Rarely does this city, and the rest of the country, get a chance to relive each and every one of the four past decades of greed and avarice that birthed the multibillion-dollar influence industry all at once.

But we’re getting the chance now. Thank Paul Manafort. The former Donald Trump campaign chairman was found guilty of eight charges related to tax evasion and money laundering in his just-completed first trial and will face a second one in September, for failing to register as a foreign agent for a Ukrainian political party.

But that’s not all. Manafort’s unregistered lobbying for Viktor Yanukovych’s Party of Regions sucked in a bipartisan collection of Washington lobbying bigwigs including Tony Podesta, Vin Weber and Greg Craig, who all failed to register as foreign agents. Special counsel Robert Mueller referred the cases of Podesta, Weber and Craig to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York for further investigation and possible prosecution......

Best case scenario is no later than 2020 the Democrats control the WH, the Senate and Congress and enact actual campaign finance reform for the first time.

Yeah, I know, everybody is corrupt, yadda yadda, but there are ways to retain access to some funding while cutting out the kinds of schemes that allow Citizens United and PACs funded by the likes of Putin to exist.

If there will ever be a window when those sentiments result in something with teeth for once it will probably be in 2020.

In the batter's box ..........

Roger Stone

and

Julian Assange

Expect Stone's indictment really soon

and

Ecuador to hand off Assange to the UK authorities, Mueller to indict Assange and the UK to allow him to be extradited to the U.S. for trial.

Sen. Mark Warner: 'This verdict makes it absolutely clear that the Mueller probe is not a "witch hunt" '

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-essential-washington-updates-sen-mark-warner-this-verdict-makes-it-1534885010-htmlstory.html

Warner is one of the leading forces in taking down Trump. He has a higher security clearance than almost everyone else as the co-Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Senator Burr, the GOP chair who controls the committee has worked with Warner and Mueller with little indications of obstruction after a couple of early hiccups.

So when Warner or Burr speak out on this matter, it carries weight in Washington. They and key members of the intelligence community know more about what Trump and Putin have done than 99% of Washington does.

QUOTE:

"Any attempt by the President to pardon Mr. Manafort ... would be a gross abuse of power and require immediate action by Congress."

I hope being a spineless coward was worth it for McConnell and Ryan. Well Ryan is leaving Congress so he obviously doesn't give a ****. Up next the rest of the Republican party needs to go down.
