I agree with you that a suspension is unwarranted. I also agree with Homer that the demons run deep. There's some pretty crazy stories out there. But I disagree with HC in saying that he shouldn't be on a football field. Sometimes if you take away the one stable thing a person has ever had, things can spiral pretty fast.

Suspected or knew? Regardless, he is going to be a Pat and thats that.

On the record, suspected. Off the record? They damn skippy knew.

If he doesn't work out he won't be a Patriot for long. We have the perfect man for this situation.

The Browns are the Sacramento Kings of the NBA. Why are you trusting that they made the right decision here?

If he falls off the wagon, they cut him and downgrade about 45 picks from a late 5 to an early 7– its a risk well worth taking.

I think the patriots have their own best interests in mind rather than the player. The compensation is meaningless to me as I have no dog in this fight.

I didn’t even see that. So then why do we care what a Giants fan thinks?

He’s done. I was screaming for Sam Darnold. As for Viper, nobody said you have to care what I think about any topic ever.

Yep. Barkley will be good, maybe even a HoF player. You don’t pass up in a QB even though I think Darnold is more Carson Palmer than Tom Brady.

Also, my point was you seem pretty into the Pats and Gordon yet you are a Giants fan. Why do you even care what the Pats do or don’t do?

Basically yeah. LT would’ve been kicked out of the league in today’s age and frankly he’s lucky to be alive. He also did a lot of terrible things that the tuna and Belichick turned a blind eye to.

I like to think I care about people. I’d be making the same argument if it were any team

I don't understand what the issue over Homer posting about Gordon is. Viper I've seen you psycho analyze Ben Simmons, I constantly talk about what other teams do as well. I'm a fan of sports in general, not just my favorite teams.

Wait, so because I banged the drum about Simmons being overrated because he can’t shoot (which is a critical NBA skill mind you) long before others including sports reporters were that is the same as this? This isn’t the same as that. This is a fan of another team pointing out all the bad reasons and none of the pros.

I'm not talking about you saying he can't shoot, I'm talking about when you said there's something wrong with his mental makeup. You haven't said anything positive about Simmons, how is that any different than what Homer is doing about Gordon?

He doesn't think it will work out, i disagree with him but its extremely possible Homer is correct. There's zero risk for the Pats here, but Gordon has a serious problem and could relapse at any given moment.

I guess I’m not making my point as clear as I should. As long as teams are willing to give this man more chances in the league, the longer it’s going to take him to get the true help he needs. The Browns did as much as they could to get him right.

I think the mental makeup is why he can’t shoot. As for not saying anything nice I have said I wouldn't mind if he was on the Cs. Just not over guys like Tatum and Brown. Also his passing is incredible and I’ve said that. So yeah I think there are some aspects that make him a at times above average player...just nowhere near elite or...Magic level. I have stated this many times.

I can understand this point of view. I do somewhat agree with it. If you can’t suceed in the NE structure then its over. Maybe he needs the militaristic style that BB runs it.

The problem at times I think with Ben Simmons is the hype machine is out of control since day 1. Generation talent! I mean how many times do we have to hear generational talent with the Sixers? And I even hear Simmons is the next Lebron at times.

I mean sure Simmons might make "the leap" in years 2 and 3. He very well might. But I do have an icky taste in my mouth at times based on how that team performed against a banged up depleted Celtics squad in the playoffs. Perhaps they over looked us, but wouldn't that just last one or two games in a series?

Simmons had a 1 point playoff game. ONE POINT.

Like I said that team might very well become legit but until proven otherwise we have their number.

On topic, I just think we had to get over the twitches that happened with realizing a Giants fan was here even though we all love homer.

I still can have nightmares over 2007. :x :(

Sometimes I truly do believe we just struggle with teams connected to how Tom Coughlin builds them up. Ghosts of the Giants....

It's slightly possible that to the Pats they consider this Jaguars team a legit problem for the remainder of Brady's career here if they think that team isn't a flash in the pan. They kicked the snot out of the Pats yesterday and they did play pretty tough in NE for the title game. They don't seem scared of the Pats at all, they don't act like the Steelers or some stupid team like that who will fold by the end of the game.

Most teams on the schedule the Pats will beat no matter what by the end of the game. These tough well coached defensive physical teams like the current Jags, the Giants of the past, a few of those Baltimore teams etc. can be the Pats kryptonite and stall the offense completely. A few of those Broncos teams too.

Most worry about the D, but most Pats defenses start out slow anyway and are never often ranked high in recent years.

The offense needs to be clicking on all cylinders by years end......and that will help the D too.

Return to Boston Celtics
