He doesn't think it will work out, i disagree with him but its extremely possible Homer is correct. There's zero risk for the Pats here, but Gordon has a serious problem and could relapse at any given moment.

I think the mental makeup is why he can’t shoot. As for not saying anything nice I have said I wouldn't mind if he was on the Cs. Just not over guys like Tatum and Brown. Also his passing is incredible and I’ve said that. So yeah I think there are some aspects that make him a at times above average player...just nowhere near elite or...Magic level. I have stated this many times.

The problem at times I think with Ben Simmons is the hype machine is out of control since day 1. Generation talent! I mean how many times do we have to hear generational talent with the Sixers? And I even hear Simmons is the next Lebron at times.

I mean sure Simmons might make "the leap" in years 2 and 3. He very well might. But I do have an icky taste in my mouth at times based on how that team performed against a banged up depleted Celtics squad in the playoffs. Perhaps they over looked us, but wouldn't that just last one or two games in a series?

Simmons had a 1 point playoff game. ONE POINT.

Like I said that team might very well become legit but until proven otherwise we have their number.

On topic, I just think we had to get over the twitches that happened with realizing a Giants fan was here even though we all love homer.

I still can have nightmares over 2007. :x :(

Sometimes I truly do believe we just struggle with teams connected to how Tom Coughlin builds them up. Ghosts of the Giants....

It's slightly possible that to the Pats they consider this Jaguars team a legit problem for the remainder of Brady's career here if they think that team isn't a flash in the pan. They kicked the snot out of the Pats yesterday and they did play pretty tough in NE for the title game. They don't seem scared of the Pats at all, they don't act like the Steelers or some stupid team like that who will fold by the end of the game.

Most teams on the schedule the Pats will beat no matter what by the end of the game. These tough well coached defensive physical teams like the current Jags, the Giants of the past, a few of those Baltimore teams etc. can be the Pats kryptonite and stall the offense completely. A few of those Broncos teams too.

Most worry about the D, but most Pats defenses start out slow anyway and are never often ranked high in recent years.

The offense needs to be clicking on all cylinders by years end......and that will help the D too.

The Jags folded last year and were folding yesterday. Had Cannon been in there...I wonder how it turns out.

Jags I didn't expect to win last year, they were pretty new at it. Remains to be seen though if Blake Bortles can help carry them to a SB but then again Nick Foles just won it all for crying out loud.

Yesterday? I think many were waiting for the typical "implosion" teams have vs. the Patriots when they let them come back and win.

I am not entirely saying at all this Jags team is a cupcake like other AFC South teams have been vs. the Pats is all. I think their D is legit.

If the Pats have homefield again I expect them to be in the Super Bowl. Homefield in the AFC has been critical, it always has been for the Pats and it was for every Peyton Manning led team.

Again, as an unbiased observer (Bears fan - hey we don't suck as bad as normal!), it didn't seem like the Jags were about to fold in any way. It seemed as though they were delivering the final blows. I still would take the Pats when it's cold and when it counts. Bortles is no star, but he's certainly a serviceable starting qb. Much lesser guys have gone on to Super Bowls. I'm a Bears fan. I know bad QB play. It's usually what we do most consistently.

Pats should have gone for it on 4 & inches in the fourth. I don't care if we were on the wrong side of the field. Of all the risks BB has chosen to take over the years, that would have been a mild risk. By punting, we gave up our momentum in the midst of what would have been an improbable comeback, and we forced our defense back on the field where they hadn't had so much time to rest..

Sox lose to the Spankees as the BP blows a save yet again. This is their achilles heal which may very well do them in.

Gordon is a full-on addict, for hard stuff the league might not even test for. Good luck to him. The compensation is irrelevant but not hopeful on this.

Yup. And Mookie’s last at bat was emblematic of who he is as a hitter. 3-1 count pulls a mistake pitch just foul. 3-2 count, he lunges for a middle out pitch and grounds weakly to short for a game ending DP.

Team doesn’t have the killer instinct. They have resiliency but that doesn’t help in the playoffs if you don’t have the former as well. As for the bullpen.... :droop:

Where is Durbin Feltman. Oh I know...Dom Dom says nothing in the system is better than what they currently have in the pen.

Dude needs to be fired the second they lose in whatever round.

Mookie Betts, runners in second and third..with the infield playing him to pull he stays back and drives it to right center. 2 run single.

Simple. Credit where credit is due.

https://985thesportshub.com/2018/09/20/lawyer-hints-patriots-interested-signing-colin-kaepernick/

Approached by TMZ, Mark Geragos, the lawyer for free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick, seemingly hinted that the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots are interested in making a move for his client.

"I would just say: Stay tuned," Geragos told TMZ. "Next week there may be some news."

Pressed for more information on Kaepernick, who has not played an NFL snap since the 2016 season and is in the midst of a collusion case against the National Football League, and his next landing spot, Geragos stuck to mere hints.

Sox are Division champs! Way to go! Now, the name Feltman needs to be thrown around at every juncture. It may be their salvation.

I was really hoping Feltman dominated when he got promoted to Salem, but he had a 1.3 WHIP in high A. They've already ruled out him being called up, which I'm fine with. If you allow 1.3 guys an inning to reach in A ball, it wouldn't haven't ended well in the majors this year.

They key for the bullpen is getting Matt Barnes back and healthy. Before his hip started acting up he was one of the best relievers in baseball, even after that crappy stretch he has a 3.3 era, a 2.71 FIP, and a ridiculous 14 k's per 9. Plus, and this has surprised me, but Wright has been a real weapon out of the bullpen. Come playoffs you'll also have Eovaldi out of the pen, his numbers first time through the batting order are insane. The bullpen is clearly the weak point, but it's the same for all the top teams.

He had a slight uptick in walks and hits sure. But that was in half the games. I dunno, it sure seems better than the junk they have in the pen now. How many blown saves and lost leads does it take? Won’t fly in the playoffs and I don’t like the whole starter to pen stuff. We shall seem but Dom Dom isn’t exactly known as a good bullpen evaluator.

Just thinking the same. Some starters out on defense but I can't remember the last time I felt the Pats looked so "blah" with play makers. :nonono:

I mean sure they might have their usual season and the AFC is garbage but....
