Oh, we already have the "injury," that hand is going to have some sort of set back the longer this takes.

Like I said before, I think the most important thing to Jimmy is to be in another situation. I think more than anything he doesn't like it here. The state/team/culture he wants out of. That's why he doesn't want to play or reconnect with Thibs. I think he will do what it takes (like give some kind of assurance he will resign with a new team) in order to get out. He wont be happy but he would rather commit to a lesser team in a different place if it means he gets out. I think once teams feel confident they will have him for more than a year they will up their deals.

I think Miami would be crazy not to put together a better package if the rumors are true. I agree with Shrink that botching this Butler trade letting him go to another team, especially if the offer isn't mind blowing, is a massive misfire by Miami. Jimmy would instantly make Miami a threat in the East. I still think there are better teams but they would be in the mix and have a star to build from.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Miami fans don’t care lol.

Riley has delivered 3 difference conference final teams and 2 different championship teams. If Riley misses on butler heat fans will just wait until Riley lands the next big one. It’s inevitable.

Did it with Tim hardaway and Zo
Did it with shaq
Did it with bron
Will inevitably do it again.

Edit: Riley has also struck out on big stars recently. LMA comes to mind, not sure who else but heat fans fully trust him and won’t worry about missing out on someone like JB

Butler can sit at home of the team tells him to.

Or we could force him to play and we could lock up 3rd place

That’s why the team has no leverage. No team is wasting their own positive assets without a long term commitment from jimmy and we’re not going to take a teams negative assets just to spite jimmy. This explains the poor market...

Heat love big stars but even they’re reluctant to release their young talent.

We can't force him to play if we have promised KAT he won't be on the team.

See if NYC is willing to put Knox up and a pick. Or something like that from another team. If Miami looks as if they have any leverage they would be proven wrong

At this point, I don't even want him here.
Talks been wide open for 8 days. Miami is the only team biting.

According to the reports I have read Miami never attempted to acquire Butler.

Where we are so far

Post#66 » by miwolvesfan » Thu Sep 27, 2018 4:56 pm

Please tell me if this seems way far off.
It sounds like the only teams we are currently talking to are the Heat, the Rockets and maybe the Nets. The Kings are only waiting to pick up a first round draft pick or two if they pickup a bad contract in a three way deal.
Current Houston offer - Eric Gordon and Pj Tucker plus a protected first for just Butler.
Current Miami offer - Whiteside and Waiters plus a first for Dieng and Butler.
Of those two offers, I have to go Houston. Getting a starting small forward plus the sixth man off a team that went to the western confernce finals sounds pretty good to me. Both can shoot 3s which we desperately need on this team. The first rounder helps the deal as well. I don't know what Thibs is holding out for. He's not getting Richardson from MIami at this point.

Right. Fans that have won championships in the past don’t care now if their team is mediocre, and would rather they pass on star players because of their apathy.

We can only “assume” that promise was made.

In fact, if that promise was made it wouldn’t be about getting good assets back. We could just trade jimmy to pacify Kat. They may be didn’t love each other but I’m still iffy on believing Kat was “promised” jimmy wouldn’t be here

Whatever makes you feel better lol. As you probably already know I also like the heat. You can make up whatever makes you feel better or listen to someone who has many irl friends who love the heat. Nobody will turn their back on pat for missing out on jimmy. Wouldn’t be a big deal at all tbh.

What’s most important for Jimmy Butler is to get into another Lockeroom and fracture it into pieces.

This is what excites this man.

This is a fair trade in my opinion. I would send the Miami 2019 first round pick to the Kings, if the Kings send us back their 2020 2nd pick. I'm not excited about he 2019 draft and would like to accumulate picks for 2020. Plus I feel like we got an additional first rounder when Bates-Diop fell to us, and have enough young players in the fold. Whiteside hopefully buys us some time for Patton to heal, and we're from under Dieng's contract and save on Butler's new contract. I feel like we can make some noise with Town, Wiggins and Richardson leading the way.

Even sending a FRP from MIA, that's terrible for SAC. They absorb three (3) years each of Dieng and Waiters while trading away $19M in expiring contracts.

lol, no way SacTown takes on $26mil in salaries for the next 3 years for just 1 FRP, and have to give up a 2nd rounder in this lmao

C – Whiteside/Patton
F – KAT/Gibson/Tolliver
F – Richardson/KBD/Nunnally
G – Wiggins/Rose/Okogie
G – Teague/Jones/Rose

That’s a pretty solid roster. The problem is, Thibs and Whiteside would probably kill each other half way through their first practice.

I promise you they have no plans for the cap space in the near future. This is almost doing them a favor by making sure they reach the salary floor while they develop the their young core.

AMEN BROTHER! We can always get cap relief from the Nets so they have the inside track on Butler's Bird rights.

You are 100% correct, sir. The problem is that most of us don’t trust Thibs or Taylor to do the right thing and hold out until the offer is acceptable. Some could argue this is exactly what Thibs is doing and if so, I actually applaud his approach. Of course, all the national pundits would rather spin it about Thibs holding a grudge, not really making an effort to trade Jimmy, asking for more than we deserve, etc. when the truth is very simple: We’re not taking back **** for a Top 10 player in the league. You don’t want to pay fair value? No problem…we’ll hang on to him.

If Richardson isn't on the table I don't know how Miami can top ANY team in the LEAGUE. I wouldn't call that bite.
