Re: #13 UCF [3-0]: vs PITT
What is not getting enough press is how the Knights locked down to keep Pitt to a mere 14 points in a fast-paced game. The defensive presence of UCF in this game suggests the team is fully together and these wins will ride out.
The Knights going 25-0 in to the playoffs, I am not sure how the media would respond to them being left out of the top-4; but left out they will.

Don’t forget Shaq who is also playing meaningful minutes in the NFL already. It would be great to see our defense improve this season. The offense is fun to watch, but so is watching INTs and fumble recoveries.
to be fair, we've had 2 fumble recoveries and 7 interceptions in 3 games. We're 5th in the country with a turnover margin of 2.0. Still early. A lot of issues, but causing turnovers hasn't been an issue so far.
The secondary is a gambling unit: boom or bust. To be dominant on TOs and allowed-TDs states that as fact.

Not to call you out, but this isn't accurate.
Both long pass plays to Killins he started out in the backfield.

I thought they gave up too many points to FAU so this performance I was impressed with, only 14 points, and 7 of those were with like 5 mins left.drsd wrote:What is not getting enough press is how the Knights locked down to keep Pitt to a mere 14 points in a fast-paced game. From ESPN:
No. 13 UCF is unbeaten and getting better

Coach Josh Heupel was asked about the win and he said:
This kind of pragmatism shows focus.
With former-Coach Frost now 0-4 and ripping Nebraska for a total lack of focus, I am thrilled that the Knights is laser-focused and "getting better."

And the first 7 came on a kickoff return.

Yeah, it was a formation shift on the second big play. He originally lined up in the backfield and shifted before the snap to the spot before the snap if I remember correctly. This forced a linebacker to cover him lol and he blew by him.

hard part for me. Tua wont get a real chance at the Heisman, as he still hasnt played one play in the 4th quarter. it makes it good for title hopes with plenty of people with playing experience, but he wont be able to pad those Heisman stats.

I’m not trying to be argumentative, but this also isn’t accurate. There was no shift out of the backfield.
Killins was lined up in the backfield next to Milton in the shotgun on both long pass plays.
The first one he ran a quick out to the left and Milton hit him short of the sticks and he turned the corner.
The second play, the touchdown, he ran a straight up wheel route out of the backfield and just toasted the linebacker badly.
Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/Nlys6ityq1Y
Play in question starts at 1:37. Killins is clearly in the backfield next to Milton.

Pitt got lucky on 1 play on special teams to score the 1st touchdown in the 1st half or else Pitt is shut out at halftime and their other score in the 4th quarter was with the game well out of reach lol.

Re: #12 UCF [4-0]: vs SMU

This is the second touchdown play.
Killins is right next to Milton at the snap. He just runs a wheel route out of the backfield and completely toasts the MLB.

i'm a little surprised we're not being pushed to ESPNU for that one given how poor Memphis is playing.

Re: #12 UCF [4-0]: vs SMU
SMU has a decent offense that's actually played much better the last three games once they made a QB switch to a freshman.
But the Mustangs defense is NOT strong, ranking 114th in the nation allowing 38 points per game.
UCF 56, SMU 21

Maybe. I mean they put up 31 on Navy (7 was on special teams), which is pretty good but I'm not going to count their 63 vs Houston Baptist, lol.
UCF is #3 in total offense, but #120 in time of possession (i.e. we put up a lot of yards really fast).
SMU is #104 in total offense, and also #126 in time of possession (i.e. a lot of 3 and outs).
3rd down conversion %? UCF is #1, SMU is #118.
UCF 63, SMU 20 (7 in garbage time).
