4) He lost trust of his former best player (Butler) Who publicly made concern in media about whole process

You're bias is just ridiculous. Let's see how it all works out.

Minimus is right. It's not bias it's fact.

Thibs got boo'd by the hometown fans tonight in pregame. Take a hint Thibs you stubborn jerk.

Thibs can't do both jobs. He's a bad GM and coach. I'd just as soon let him GM and find a new coach but it's not going to happen this year at least.

Minimus is incredibly biased and so are you Nick. We won 47 games last year and had the 4th most efficient offense in the league. That is a very good job at both coaching and GMing.

As a GM he tried to fix the team short term with the Butler trade but it was a mistake for the long term.
We need to make a good trade or else the team is f..d
There are 2 trades which can fix this team, a Butler trade and and a Teague trade.
For me we have 2 main needs a good sf and a rim protector at center position

You forgot one..........."a Wiggins trade"

watching him play makes me vomit. looks like his game has not changed one bit. its gonna be a long year wolves nation. :banghead:

Robinson hasn’t looked good at all and I doubt he gets any playing time during the regular season i’d rank Bam ahead of him

I don't even have a clue who this Robinson that we are talking about is. Last good Robinson in the NBA that I can think of was David.

The biggest problem is the same as it was in Chicago, the people/person above him doesn't agree with the way he does business and you end up pulling in multiple directions. This is why I had hope when he also got POBO although Taylor's fingerprints are all over issues with this team that people just say it's Thibs.

1. Maybe, kinda hard to keep a lockerroom when you don't really have power. He wanted to move Wiggins, the owner didn't, now you have a max player just going through the motions on the court. 1 rebound in 28 minutes for a max level wing, incredible, for some reason, I don't think that's Thibs.
2. Absolutely, Taylor should have either stayed completely out of it like he did to hire Thibs(went through a consultant company to hire Thibs) or do your own hiring of someone you agree with. Either way Taylor screwed up.
3. Minnesota reporters have said that Towns asked for Thibs to be removed, I believe this. I also believe that although Towns is an incredible talent and trains well, he's soft and he doesn't seem to like to be pushed, although stronger, limited offensive centers have some of their best games of their careers against him.
4. Still want to know why, if it's about money it's Taylor indicating he's not paying Butler, if it's because he knows Towns wants Thibs out and Butler doesn't want to be here if Thibs is gone(he'd have a long term contract with Minnesota) it would be about money again trying to get his bird rights to a team he'll resign with.
5. The fans on this board are interesting, instead of trying to figure out the logic of something you don't like you just go with "crazy" , "stupid", "refuse to accept reality". Whether you think it's right or wrong, there has been a plan and Glen Taylor has kept putting up roadblocks and now people are like see... it didn't work, it never had a chance to work. A defensive coach who wasn't allowed to trade a horrible defender like Wiggins then watch the owner sign him to the max. That to me is beyond stupid but I understand that Taylor was betting Wiggins would come around, he bet wrong.

But keep going with the simple explanations instead of figuring out why and figuring out the real problem with the franchise... Glen Taylor, because once Butler and Thibs are gone, you still have him making the calls.

The simple Taylor vetoing Wiggins being available for trade stopped Minnesota from having a starting lineup this year of Teague, LaVine, Butler, Markkanen and Towns. Just 1 veto had that big of change on the franchise.

Why picks? By the time they have a positive impact KAT will be gone because he had been playing with Rose and Wiggins at the wing for 3 years.

lol. At the end of the day EVERY GM has an owner above him. It just ridiculous. It is not Thibs team, it is Glen's team. You can't do anything you want. Maybe Taylor is not the best owner, but it is part of your job to communicate with him. Flip did it, and all I know about Thibs is that he had issues with communication in CHI and now in MIN.

Just one example of Thibs refusing to even start trading talks about Butler IS COMPLETELY NUTS from GM point of view. Just like idea of keeping this situation in locker room. It is unprofessional, because Thibs put Butler over whole team, over franchise.

P.S. You can call me biased or hater or whatever, but two years ago many of fans on this board was very sceptical about Thibs ability to develop young players, his rotations. There were sceptical for a reason. Not about his ability to create a defensive team or management skills. Now you can simply ask yourself: if there is a chance to go back two years ago and choose a HC/GM, who would you choose? Thibs?
I'm sure I'd prefer any another GM over Thibs and David Blatt as HC.

ABSOLUTELY THIS IS WHY I SAY YOU HAVE AN OWNER PROBLEM!!! Flip probably was able to manipulate Taylor or at the very least, they were somewhat aligned in their thinking, hopefully after Thibs Taylor can find someone like.

Yes Thibs had issues with Chicago's FO because they are dirty, would you like to give me you're opinion on why they refused to keep Ron Adams who was Thib's main assistant coach who seems to be everyone's #1 assistant coach. Chicago is about the profit margin, not basketball, hence only really being relevant during MJ's reign and then getting that lucky #1 pick when they should have had #9.

I prefer Thib(I actually understand and agree with what he's trying to do)s if he gets support from his bosses, if he doesn't it's not going to work. He's not a motivator, he expects everyone to be professional and do their job, I have no problem saying that but he prepares his team as good or better then anyone else, players and ex players will tell you that also. He also doesn't like things getting out in the media so he doesn't interact with the media/reporters much at all which leads to never defending himself publicly.

When I heard he had the POBO I thought it would be different, I didn't know how many decisions Glen Taylor made as an owner, I just knew he was in charge of a franchise that hadn't gotten to the playoffs in over a decade. Thibs needs a situation like San Antonio, where he works well with the POBO/GM, the owner lets the basketball minds make the basketball decisions. Not everyone can have a savvy owner like Wyc Grousbeck. Even in my current city, OKC, you don't hear Clay Bennett going against his GM or coach, he lets Sam Presti make the basketball decisions.

Going back two years ago I would choose Thibs. He brought us to the playoffs in just two years and pulled off an awesome trade for a top ten player in the league and was smart enough to trade Wiggins and not give him a max contract. He has demonstrated very good skills.
Glen made Thibs POBO, but stepped in to mess things up on every important decision.

What you so totally and completely miss is that YOU could have won 47 games with that talent!! Maybe not. You might have only won 43.

Of course...Minimus and I would have won many more!

That's BS Nick. We went 13 years without making the playoffs once. The difference was Thibs and the players he brought in. I can say all the warriors players suck it's just that Kerr is such a genius coach that they win. Saying it doesn't make it true. Or I can Say that Kerr is the worst coach in history it's just the talent that wins. Thibs and the talent he brought were the difference between 29 wins and 47. That I know for sure. So maybe he was only a great GM maybe he was only a great coach. Maybe a little of both. Whatever it is Thibs was the man responsible for us finally having some success.

Just 1 veto had that big of change on the franchise.

quoted cause it’s true ...

While that is very true Thibs still made the deal for Butler which is now a disaster. He drafted Dunn when he should have taken my guy Jamal Murray. We would never have made the move for Teague and overpay. We even could have played Murray and Rubio together.

Thibs continues to make one bad move after another. By the time Glen fires him he will have destroyed this franchise. His players hate him. Why do you think he keeps bringing back players from Chicago? He's running an outdated system too.

Glen has his faults but he has to do what he can to protect the franchise.

The only evidence we have is that the Wolves have done dramatically better under Thibs. We have zero evidence that the trade for Butler was a disaster. It was a great trade when it was made that any decent GM in the league would have jumped at the chance to make it. I'm thinking there is a good chance we keep Butler. If we trade him get Richardson and Bam that would be better than we gave up. Getting Richardson and Whiteside and moving Dieng would be better than what we gave up. The only way this goes wrong is if Glen does something to protect the Franchise.

Can we just keep Butler? This is going on way too long. I think fans just want a decision (yes or no).

Glen Taylor should know. His ticket sales will go way down.

More quotes for truth...

Some fans of this franchise seem to have severe cases of Stockholm syndrome.

Here are a few things we do know

1. Keeping Wiggins Kat and Zach together would have been a disaster. Kat and Wiggins alone is a disaster lol
2.its on record that thibs was willing to dump Wiggins
3. It’s also on record that glen was the one who committed a full max to Wiggins before even seeing how he’d perform as a free agent.

I’ll let the Stockholm syndrome victims do the math. Thibs is far from perfect especially for this franchise but glen maxing Wiggins alone is far more damage long term to this franchise then anything thibs has done.

Edit: what damaging moves has thibs really made?

Zach Wiggins and Kat is an absolute disaster of a core. Not only are they a disaster but the 3 would be expensive. So expensive that it would strap the franchise down trying to keep them. Markennen isn’t dirk and Dunn isn’t cp3. That core isn’t going anywhere. Thibs tried to salvage the disaster before it got obvious and glen panicked and pulled the team back into hell by maxing Wiggins.
