Supposedly the NFL isn't happy about 49ers being scheduled for several national games and instead of getting Jimmy G in those games, they have Bethard.

So some suggestion about the 49ers trading for Foles.

Garoppolo update: Shanahan said he was told Jimmy Garoppolo’s surgery Wednesday to repair his torn ACL went “as good as it could’ve” and he’s hopeful the quarterback could be available for part of the offseason program on a limited basis.

Even I saw how bad that one was. There has been alot of talk lately about the team's defensive issues like this over the past couple of weeks. If this continues, how do you see this coming down? Is this just a player issue or do you see the DC and some of the defensive coaches being on the hot seat?

At the same time look at what's been on the other side of him lately. You don't feel as forced to challenge him when you've got those other guys on the other side of him. You could make a case that it could be better for all if the number came down a little bit because he was being challenged a little bit more because the OTHER side is harder to go at than it has been for teams.

Shanahan didn't want to disclose any of the running back names who worked out but made mention of Jeremy McNichols, whom the 49ers signed last season and spent the offseason with the team before being waived on September 1.

Jeff Wilson, who is on the practice squad, is also a candidate for the active roster.

For the love of Pete I want to be invited to the facility to see why on Earth they'd even entertain calling back McNichols over Wilson. McNichols isn't in the same stratosphere for me as Wilson is.

The entire defensive backfield has no idea what it's doing. Every game. They miss assignments & don't know where to be all the time.

They should've tried harder to bring back Eric Reid IMO. But at least they might learn from their screw-ups in a throw-away year.
