Covington was 8th in the NBA in RPM last year, and 6th in WIn Shares.

Defense and threes sounds good to me.

It sure does especially next to Wiggins.

Maybe is about have good metrics in RPM, BPM, WS. If it is the former, Jimmy works really hard and is unparalleled. If it is the latter... well maybe Towns work as hard as him. Or harder at the same age, hell... if you take into account how many assists Butler had to KAT in clutch time for the whole season he maybe cares about winning even more than Butler!

Why is it difficult for you to be genuine in an argument? If you come into the NBA as a 30th pick and dramatically improve multiple areas of your game, then that is a great sign of someone who works hard. If you excel at defense, the most non-glamorous side of the game, you probably work hard. KAT has a talent for scoring efficiently and grabbing rebounds and he's excelled at those things to some degree, every year. He's been awful at defense every year so far, his passing has remained the same. None of that is the end of the world by any means but it's only to say that KAT does not currently excel at a lot of the things that win you games, the things that are non-glamorous. Even Jeff Van Gundy recently said "Towns has shown no ability to drive winning. How do you drive winning? You do the hard things, like defense, like pass the ball willingly, making the tough 50/50 ball plays. Has that been in Towns DNA? It hasn't been. May it turn? I don't know." Butler's behavior has been terrible and I can see why it'd be difficult to be his teammate but it has nothing to do with working hard.

Watching tonight's game I think it's obvious that without Butler virtually no matter what we get in trade we are not a playoff team. However, if I'm Philly watching this game and I can get Butler for RoCo and Saric I do it. Butler is very, very good.

I wish Jimmy would have stayed in better shape, so he didn’t miss so many bunnies. Still, he took the big shots down the stretch, and made more of them, finishing 9-23.

I watched his game today, driving inside for easier shots, and it makes me wonder why Wiggins can’t do that? And why does he spin around and increase the difficulty of the shot, when he should be able to elevate over most any defender?

Came very close to winning in San Antonio. That ain't bad. Butler was a little rusty, but IMO played very well.

Yeah.....there's no way that the guy we saw today "ran the tables with the third-stringers." Consider me a skeptic.

I think that the third stringers situation might have been Butler being psycho and nobody wanting to come near him. However, I saw a very good player tonight.

Normal. Butler never passed to Towns so it basically looked the same as it always has.

Wiggins used to do that ... got to the line alot. now he doesn't

They added DeMar DeRozan in place of nobody. Better team than last year.

Better spacing and better ball movement will help

It is painfully obvious this team is horribly assembled. Towns once again was owned by a more aggressive, physical player. Tell me again how he shouldn't play the 4? Last year, I figured it was just going to take some time for people to gel, I know just think it is obvious Butler doesn't fit with this team. He is the best player on this team, and if he was 22 years old I would say we should dump the rest and build around him, but that isn't the case. Lets just hope he keeps scoring points and making splash plays so someone over reacts and pays a high price for him.

Paying a high price for Jimmy is not overreacting. It is reacting to him being one of the 10 best players on this planet.
