Would the Lakers trade Brandon Ingram for Butler?

This would be as ideal as possible...Ingram with Wiggins and Towns would set us at the 2,3,4 for years...find a solid 3 and D point guard and a rebounding, shot blocking center that they would be set.

This sounds like a good idea but bringing in a new center to play alongside Towns also appears to be a fan only realization that the team may never do. Would love it if they found a real rim protecting/rebounding Center to play with him and we just let Towns be the old Kevin Love drilling 3s.

For those that back Jimmy, and say Towns and Wiggins don’t play hard enough on defense, I ask you to answer this..?

How does Jimmy Butler fail to get in shape for the NBA season, that he needs to get rested on Game 3? Regardless of what team he might be on, how unprofessional is it to not prepare for the start of the season?

Can you imagine how much the Thibs apologists would bitch if Wiggins or Kat took game three off to rest lol

Wow you sound like me!! I think Butler is a great player...,but I don’t think he is the right fit with Towns or Wiggins. By the time those two are entering their prime....Butler will be on the downside of his prime....and besides that I think the chemistry is bad. I’m confident KAT is going to be a stud....Wiggins I’m not as sure. But Wiggins is 23 years old....and I would not move him just because you don’t think he is a max player at the moment. While we made the playoffs last year....I don’t think it was a good year for KAT’s or Wiggins development, and honestly I have serious questions as to whether Thibs is the coach needed for that.

I don’t want to be disrespectful....because Flip was so much more than a basketball coach or GM, but I miss his vision. I miss how candid he was and how he made it felt like it was our team. Deep down I feel he would have drafted Jamal Murray instead of Dunn. To a large extent, I feel his vision has been ruined. But fortunately I feel that it can be salvaged....with the right moves.

I wouldn’t give away Butler....but if we keep him, he needs to be a better teammate. I think he can be that guy....and if he does I would give him the max. I’m pretty sure Glen can handle the cost and I think that was the plan when we traded for him. If we get a good offer I would move him though. Kind of a little bit of a reset. If Butler was committed to the Wolves....he would have played last night. Or at least made the trip. I guess he has made it clear he wants to be traded. Life as a Wolves fan I guess.

I thought it was something to do with an injury he picked up in the Cavs game? He was definitely hobbling around at one point in that game.

Of any reason, I'd have to rate it behind:

1) Location. (Miami is so much sexier for a young, heterosexual, single male and it's not even close.)
2) Location. (Miami is so much better for something called personal income tax, which they have none.)
3) Location. (The weather. First time I ever seen a 'power auger' commercial was watching the twolves stream.)
4) Location. (Minnesota is a bad NBA town.) Maybe it's a chicken or egg situation. Both are true. Just saying....

What? ya'll are using hand augers still?

Not sure where you've been but Butler did this trade demand thing and then sat out all of training camp, save a singular 6-minute scrimmage. There's articles about it and everything.

So Jimmy’s intention was to be out of shape. He could’ve kept himself in shape.

I'm okay with Jimmy sitting out games. The last thing I want is to hurt his trading value. This season is lost anyway.

It's like people don't understand there's being in shape and then there's being in NBA game shape. Players often talk about it taking around 30 days to get back into gameshape.
It's unlikely that anyone would look at Giannis Antetokounmpo and say the 23-year-old is out of shape. The 6-foot-11, 242-pound Milwaukee Bucks star is a chiseled, dynamic athlete -- hardly the image of someone who isn't physically fit.

“I’m kind of tired after games now, but I just have to get myself in better shape. That’s how I feel," Antetokounmpo said. "The last game against Minnesota I told Coach I got to play more because I want to get in shape. He told me, ‘Giannis, you’re in great shape.’ I’m like, ‘Not for me. For what I can do I’m not.’ I know when I’m in great shape.

"Especially with the offense we’re going to run now I don’t want to just go through the motions. I want to be aggressive. I want to be out there dominating plays, being able to go for the offensive rebound and be the first guy back to block the shot.”

Antetokounmpo was one of five Bucks players sitting out Tuesday's preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder specifically to get rest. Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Ersan Ilyasova and Brook Lopez also were held out.

Also, so far Butler leads the team(23rd so far in the NBA) in average distance during games at 2.58 miles with Wiggins in 2nd at 2.52.

That's what I think too. If he gets hurt with his all out hard playing style, everybody will lose. I try to find a trade asap to avoid that situation. It's got to happen at some point. This has dragged out far too long. Sit him and move on with what we have. Just my $2.

Just want to see if anyone else noticed this.

Jimmy doesn't warm up in his Wolves jersey, and then doesn't put it on until right before tip off as if he's trying to make a point.
I say make a trade, good, bad, or fair. I can't root for this team all out with me not liking a certain player. Roll with what we got and see where that goes. Prob a losing season, but what else is new?

And we could have won that game without him if the refs were fair.

Guess I never noticed it. And his little flack jacket underneath.

Still, I hate the ideal of losing, but I would rather do that than have Jimmy think we can't win without him.

Yes, i have definitely noticed. He wears the jersey for the absolute minimum number of seconds.

Jimmy is not in shape aerobically, and nothing about a hand injury prevents aerobic training to be ready for the season.

I think it is smart not to play Butler every game. He gets injured you just lost all hope of a decent trade happening.
