How does Jimmy Butler fail to get in shape for the NBA season, that he needs to get rested on Game 3? Regardless of what team he might be on, how unprofessional is it to not prepare for the start of the season?
Wow you sound like me!! I think Butler is a great player...,but I don’t think he is the right fit with Towns or Wiggins. By the time those two are entering their prime....Butler will be on the downside of his prime....and besides that I think the chemistry is bad. I’m confident KAT is going to be a stud....Wiggins I’m not as sure. But Wiggins is 23 years old....and I would not move him just because you don’t think he is a max player at the moment. While we made the playoffs last year....I don’t think it was a good year for KAT’s or Wiggins development, and honestly I have serious questions as to whether Thibs is the coach needed for that.
I don’t want to be disrespectful....because Flip was so much more than a basketball coach or GM, but I miss his vision. I miss how candid he was and how he made it felt like it was our team. Deep down I feel he would have drafted Jamal Murray instead of Dunn. To a large extent, I feel his vision has been ruined. But fortunately I feel that it can be salvaged....with the right moves.
I wouldn’t give away Butler....but if we keep him, he needs to be a better teammate. I think he can be that guy....and if he does I would give him the max. I’m pretty sure Glen can handle the cost and I think that was the plan when we traded for him. If we get a good offer I would move him though. Kind of a little bit of a reset. If Butler was committed to the Wolves....he would have played last night. Or at least made the trip. I guess he has made it clear he wants to be traded. Life as a Wolves fan I guess.
