Team has already taken massive steps forward since preseason. The passing in the second half was night and day better, just flat out missing shots. Doesn't make the preseason matter any more than it did before.

It's evident that we have a gelling problem and i dunno if it can be solved without some players getting butthurt. This will need to be addressed in the next practice session.

Excuses aside. They are pros. Team has talent. Kyrie and Gordon are still better than a lot of players.

No reason this team should be this bad this early. This isnt a "recovering from injury deal".

There's a chemistey issue, and some of these players who have lesser roles this year may not be happy.

40 pct of the starting lineup is coming off surgery.
And Kyrie had a block, a few steals, with an effecient 22 points. Gordon an effecient 10-12 in limitted minutes.

Again, bigger issue than recovery

.377 from 3 last season. That’s 6 extra makes on tonight if they weren’t regressing into the abyss.

Team is a fraud right now. Its early and that should change, but right now...terrible.

Agreed. I don't know if all these preseason "Celtics rules the East talk" is getting too much to their heads but it's been horrible so far. Ball movement is such a contrast from last year's. I think we've got too much alpha males on this team right now, or at least with alpha male mentality.

It's too early, but 8 games in (including preseason), and we still haven't seen our "fab 5" get into a good flow together. Something's gonna change, at least right now. And I'd say bench Jaylen Brown and start Theis or Baynes when he comes back. Bring some grit into that lineup. Overreaction I know but this is frustrating.

Kyrie took 19 shots to get 22 pts. Hardly efficient. He was terrible tonight by my eye. Which is fine, he's probably not near 100 pct.

Lmao that’s a joke man. Save this post until the end of the season. This teams coasting right now. Def out of shape, but talent will shine sooner then later!

Rozier is gone anyways, he's just forcing to earn his payday. If the kid can't play within his role then he doesn't belong here.

Brown is the odd man out in this starting lineup. We'd be better off with a 3&D sort of player at that spot.

2008 Celtics took the preseason seriously and built their chemistry in the preseason so they could hit the ground running to start the year.

This team didn’t take it seriously. Now they struggle

99% of teams don't take it seriously. The 08 team didn't have 3 rotation players coming off injury as well

The shooting from the Celtics guards has been bad.

Is it possible that they aren't getting the same shots they got last year? Or are they just having a bad stretch?

Brown is the type where he needs to be fed the ball in his spots since he isn't a great creator. I think as the passing on the team improves he will improve. He is trying to force the issue right now

Hell in general 95% of any NBA team on a given year took the preseason more seriously than this team.

They actually run plays and try things and work on lineups.

This team... as we have seen so far in the season is one full of players that just want to go out there and style. They barely run plays, they have no idea where to pass. They're just freelancing constantly. They are doing fake hustle on defense, no toughness on the boards or defense outside of players who's entire career is defense.

It's pathetic. Disgusting.

I wont be worried until Christmas. Even if we're 500. It will hurt for playoffs but the first 20 games will be about gelling. In the end if healthy we have the most talented roster. Doesn't mean we will win a championship but it's a long haul. I'm glad its happening early. Brad can get their attention and figure out the pecking order

Blaming one guy doesn’t work in this case at the moment. Overall, they just aren’t playing well as a team. Everything looks forced, miscommunication on defense. Just bad team chemistry. It’ll get better, I’m assuming, but it doesn’t look like a good product on the floor. Certainly not looking like a contender to be a champion. They need a lot more work.

43.3, 40.4, 40.2, 40.7 that’s the shooting percentage of the first four games. This team should stop reading their paper clippings and start balling.

That's 100% what we should do.

**** over reaction.

Let's actually rebuild our defense and play players that can defend.

**** offense. No one cares. Build back the foundation, we have the players to play big and dominate defensively so let's do it.

If Tatum and Rozier have progressed our offense will excel. If Hayward is any good our offense will excel. If Brown is any good then he'll thrive in the second unit and excel.

So I don't give a ****, we went on our 16 game win streak with by far our best defensive lineup that is always Baynes/Horford. Well now Baynes has a 3 point shot so he won't tank our offense. Get back there and we can worry about the rest later. Shock of all shock with not every single player being a me first ISO player if the second unit is struggling to score they might have to just rely on picks and running set plays off screens. How horrible, we'll actually have to play tough basketball.

Our starting lineup going forward should be: Irving/Hayward/Tatum/Horford/Baynes.

And if we can't defend with that then **** it we're not doing anything this season and Irving will probably leave in the off season. So let's just get back to basics and hopefully the team will wake up and start actually playing basketball with 3 unselfish players in the starting lineup and a height advantage on every single team oustide of Philly or the Warriors.

Well this team’s battling other teams. Teams will play you hard when everyone’s putting you in the nba finals. You don’t wanna get off to a crappy start and have all these losses.

Return to Boston Celtics
