It sucks that Smith got hurt but it opened the door for Shamet, who has look good so far.

That has been a happy accident. I think that Shamet would have gotten noticed this year at some point anyway, but he is certainly getting a much bigger chance, and is taking advantage of it.

Zhaire Smith is a SF right now. I don't think his injury has nearly as much impact on Shamet's playing time, as does Futz being trash. Zhaire Smith will probably get some of Covington's backup minutes, when he gets back.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Smart that we draft these kids at 19 so they are still young after they have gone through their initiation.

Time to trade next year first round pick.
It's too risky for the young guys out there to be selected by the Sixers.

To be fair, I don’t think he’s playable right now. I’d rather have korky or milton play.

Nah, they need to get another one. One will get hurt and the other will play.

So we didn't check into his food allergies and fed him some sesame, which totally deteriorated him physically and now he's a skinny guy with no strength who hasn't done ANY basketball related activity since September....

He's definitely not playing this season.

Zhaire mugged on Sesame Street! I'm sure they'll get a handle on this eventually, but down to skin and bones, and unable to work out, it looks like this year is a wash. Shoot, and I was excited by the pick.

Zhaire wouldn’t play much this season anyways, he’s a longterm project. Most likely would’ve gotten garbage time minutes just like Korkmaz and TLC before.

Unreal man. Noel,Embiid,Okafor,Simmons,Fultz,Smith

I understand injuries happen, especially knees/ankles/feet....but man this is just outrageous. And now were starting with even weirder things. "Yips" "Mental issues" "sesame allergies", like WTF! What is next!?

So today is going well.

There is a good chance that Zhaire doesn't play the rest of this season.

So he just like every first round pick gets hurt, but gets hurt early enough to return from injury. So then fate decided to step in and go "Nah, you think you're going to break the trend? Here's a severe allergic reaction that will put that to rest."

I mean, seriously. I don't believe in fate, but they are making it hard not to. This team legitimately has me believing in curses.

Whoever we draft next year, please hide them a la Final Destination. We need the Injury Demon to not be able to get our rookies and hopefully find a new team to torment.

As soon as he got injured and they said December, I was like, see you next season...lol. Sorry to be right on this one.

If this is really a Final Destination scenario it would have circled back to get Mikail Bridges.

I have a slightly more reasonable explanation. I think Joel Embiid is a health vampire. He feeds off the vitality of our young players to maintain his strength.
