ROY is a done deal.
Doncic will win this easier than any other rookie in the last decade.

If he doesn't get injured, god forbid.

I like Ayton too, but if my Mavs wins significantly more games (let's say, anything from +5 up), it should be hard to take it away from him, unless of course Ayton goes another level, which is not impossible I guess.

I think Ayton and Doncic are very close right now in terms of winning the RoY award, and someone, for example JJJ, could still come up ahead. There's 60-ish games left to play, a lot can change.

Gaspar, how reflective are these numbers of Bridges' play and how much of the team as a whole?

J cubed is very impressive. I think he has a shot at winning ROY. His team has the best record of all the rookies. Doncic and Ayton round out my top three so far.

I think the only reason JJJ isn't a contender at the moment is that he isn't getting enough minutes (24.5). If he gets closer to 30 minutes, he'll be a contender for sure.

I think he'll start to average closer to 30. He played 35 tonight and the reason that average is low is because he had some games where he got into foul trouble early and got benched. When he stays out of foul trouble he generally gets plenty of playing time.

JJJ impressed me. His defensive IQ, instincts and tools (length, quickness, lateral movement, hands etc) are incredible. He seems to have his hand in every defensive play. He will surely win a DPOY or two some day.

JJJ impressed me also. I wish this kid all the best, he looks really good and I have no doubt he will be a great player (hack he already is and Memphis is extremely happy)

For me currently it is:

Doncic
Ayton
JJJ (could be second with a bit more consistency, Ayton has that)
Trae

the rest of the pack. And I think any of the above can win it and cannot see anyone else taking it away

P.S. Keep an eye on Sexton I think that kid is also going to get just stronger with season going longer and tanking Cavs giving him the freedom of the world

I'm sick of watching Bulls games, primarily to see how Carter goes, only for him to get absolutely shafted by rookie foul calls. He's got his 3rd 3 minutes in to the 2nd quarter and only 1 was a foul. It happens every game to him.

Sexton has the Cavs ahead of the Sixers through 3 quarters tonight. Philly will of course likely win but Young Bull really starting to look very impressive.

Well Sexton i think already passed Young... How do you go -35 in 19 mins though? That has to be some kind of a record?

Young 5/2/0 in 20 mins, pretty constant in the last games.

Supports what I’ve thought from the eye test, Mikal Bridges is an elite defender already.

Young has been really bad over the last 3 weeks...
Ayton is aight, steady, but nothing special, doesn't scream KAT or AD to me. Erwing was a good comparison for him I think.
Luka is super legit though.

I feel you. Mavs have same problem with Doncic on the other end, the kid is a punching bag, refs call only the elbows to the head lately.

Actually, scratch that, they didn't even call a blatant elbow to the head vs. Nets.

Yeah, rookie treatment by refs is an absolute joke in this league.
