Dude everyone on twitter and any analysts talk about Ayton's defense. They have for the last year. Doesn't mean he isn't a great player. JJ really shouldn't have made 2nd all rookie team. He tied with Bam or beat him by one vote because someone voted for him first team. The only reason he put up numbers late was because we benched our good players and he put up empty stats. I know you think he will be better than Tatum and I hope so too, but I don't really expect it.

Rookie Amare averaged 13.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1 assist on 47% FG in 31 minutes a game.

Who hates Ayton? He's played up to expectations and most expect him to be even better before the end of the season. I have given him plenty of props for his individual defence. I've also talked about his poor team defense which I mention is because of his low and inconsistent motor.

Go through my posts, I've given Igor very very little props. All I've done is defended him against unreasonable criticism. In the same way I recognise Ayton isn't the final product and will need time to grow into his role as an NBA starter, I recognise the same thing with Igor. But some fans just want him gone. That would be like me calling for Ayton to be traded because his defence and softness isn't on the level I expect.

You are legitimate. We disagree sometimes and agree a lot of times. I don't see player favoritism from you. I am not talking about you at all. You have expressed your concerns and you really don't harp on it unless its in game or a topic of discussion like now. JMac I think we just are seeing the fallout from 8-9 yrs of suckatude. We got a good one in Ayton... as good as anyone should imagine. He is exceeding expectations stat wise, but still very raw in his on court play to play activity. The hype as a generational player like Doncic is just that... hype. The dude will improve. His offensive game right now a quiet double double machine. And he has yet to figure out how dominating he can be. You'd just like to see him click faster on D, but that goes for the whole freaking team. Yadda yadda yadda.... nothing we all dont know.

I'll still 'She-andre' him on occasion, but his positives have far outpaced his negatives... and that trend should only continue.

For sure. He needs to get meaner. Give up a foul or two and hack the hell out of someone going to the hoop. He has to be a deterrent on D. Don't be complacent and ok with midgets driving to the hoop and scoring on you.
