Should be fun. Can't believe Nick is actually fighting.

Not getting my hopes up. I'd put more confidence in Tony vs Khabib making it to the opening bell.

It's a pretty great match-up, that said.

Yeah that is fair but my guess is Nick ran out of money and needs some. That's why it wasn't a long talk of it and just came out of the blue.

I don't think he's way bigger. He is taller and has the better reach, so for me a healthy Diaz (which who the hell knows after 4 years off), should be the favourite but Masvidal has been fighting and recently had a full go at Thompson in 2017 who is quite a bit bigger as well.

Bloody Elbow does good work.

Probably shouldn't be surprising that people who enjoy subduing others w violence are also attracted to authoritarianism. But ****. Is there anyone renowned as chill, aside from Renato, and Mac Danzig? Oh, Matt Weiman.

Tuned into FIGHT COMPANION on my commute this morning. I was a little burnt out on Rogan so haven't really listened in the last 2-3 months. I'm like 20 minutes in and have already ran the whole gamut of sh*t that gets parrotted every single episode.

*Rogan giving a lecture on how head kicks actually strike the back of the head.
*Eddie advocating for headbutts and soccer kicks in MMA.
*Rogan talking about the detriment of eye pokes in MMA.
*Callen giving random facts about random countries due to his intellectual superiority ("Thailand is too poor to afford ice!")
*Recapping Maurice Smith's career, especially his fight vs. Mark Coleman.

There's literally more that I forgot/am too lazy to type.

Also, Schaub has said twice (and Callen replied once) about how UFC is making changes to USADA program in 2019. Rogan very obviously avoided it both times. So, guessing that is happening.

Is that in regard to not annoucing violations until cases being resolved?
Or does he means something completely different, and in that case, any speculation?

Not that. This was a change to be implemented in 2019. I thought he implied USADA would be going away or minimized, but can't recall the quote to back that up. Also, he said it was a rumor from "the deep dark web" so I'm sure he wasn't talking about something that is already well known.

I think he had a pretty sizeable deal compared to most young "rookies", and probably wants a nice increase. Probably just isn't worth what he's asking for to the UFC.

It seems they have been running a pilot version of this new policy for Jon Jones for over a year now. I would not be surprised if they were going to also try to de-bug this system by giving Lesnar a preview.

Is he really a draw? I mean the UFC determined that Mighty Mouse, Bendo, Rory MacDonald, and Mousasi aren’t draws.

Just got to a part where Bravo referred to a story he "heard about" where a guy got hit by lightning and then woke up and was like super smart. This guy has a super hero universe grasp of reality.

Didn't one of them say that someone got struck by lightning and woke up fluent in Chinese?

Oh, where'd you learn stuff that would preclude that, the library?

Awesome night of fights tonight if you look at the cards in totality. UFC, Bellator, and LFA all on. The DVR space is going to be tested.

UFC's got Usman-RDA, Munhoz-Caraway, and Aguilar-vs. RZ's boy Glenn all worth watching that are televised. Usman's pressure I think will disarm RDA, Caraway I think will out-work Munhoz, and I think the Angel of Death will come for RZ's boy. Glenn looked his best against Bermudez, but Aguilar's arrival to the UFC is long overdue. He effed up Thanh Le, Damon Jackson, and won up a weight class in DWTNCS. Anticipation may get to him, but if not I think Glenn's lack of defense is exploited by a skilled and powerful wrestle-boxer. Barcelos is also opening the early prelims somehow when he put an uppercut from hell series on Holobaugh last fight. Excellent prospect.

As for Bellator, this is the deepest card they've ever produced by a good margin. It's deeper than the Mariana Trench. Just kind of a weak main card with some mismatches and fighters who don't belong. The main event ironically got better due to injury. I think Njokuani murks Salter though with his timing, length, strength, and arsenal. But Salter may walk through it and grapple-eff him. Who knows. Prelims has Yamauchi-Weichel. They're both contenders. I like Weichel on better strategy and technique. Honeycutt-Van Steenis. Van Steenis on dynamism. Joe Warren-Bunch - Warren on aggression, clinch striking. Gerald Harris, Mike Shipman, Joe Schilling, Jordan Young, Noad Lahat; all notable names on the prelims.
